No excuse the size of the country some of the European countries are similar of size and have better players. Its the way our leagues are  set out it does not allow talentented young players  to get thru the ranks . When we were coming back up the divisions there were a few potential young players who were  just unlucky not to get a chance With the guidance of a good coach/manager  could have done well. Its got worse since Lawell and  his side kick Petrie got there grips into the SFA it's set up for 1 team only to survive on champions league money to pay their wage bill.
