I agree both are better options. An out of position Kent is still better than Lammers.

Stats say it isn't a big game. We should be pumping the sheep. Atleast we have Lammers to make this idea of a close game closer to folks here expectations I guess......

I agree with you. But what a spectacle it'd be.
Footballs the national sport of Scotland, yet Hampden is what we have to show for it, and the SFA want to stay there. It's embarrassing when you consider Scotland's 2nd sport has outclassed footballs national stadium for 3 decades. It's a failing on the SFA, especially given the substantial higher funding they have than the SRU. If not Murrayfield, then there has to be a direction in the SFA to deliver something better than Hampden in the mid to long term. Sadly there isn't.
Either way don't think the unwashed have to worry about travel arrangements for a final this season.

Just a reminder the SFA chose that disgrace Hampden over moving to a proper stadium like Murrayfield all for vanity. 17,000+ extra bears would of been there, with much better seats to see the sheep get pumped.

Belgrade derby at Partizan, in the Red Star end.
It was the 150th derby, so the fans were in celebratory rather than murderous mood, although it was still ridiculously tense. Insane pyros which stopped the game several times. A wrongly disallowed goal for Partizan, a wrongly given - and scored - penalty for Red Star. At just about the moment when I thought it might boil over in the stands, the Partizan ultras set fire to their own stand and unfurled a banner saying something like "75 years of football, nationalism, war, glory" and the Red Star fans all applauded.
    Nutters.

Slavia v Sparta about 20 years ago, was mental, they set fire to the stadium, fire brigade tried to put it out, and the fans attacked them, before the riot police went storming in! Was fun!!

28th June 1992 - Flamengo v Vasco Da Gama, Maracana, Rio. My uncle worked in the oil industry and had a few bob at the time, asked if I wanted tae go tae Brazil - aye ok 😂 Was just 17 years old and was shitting myself in the stadium as they were fucking mental fans with total chaos on and off the park.  Second half of the match a fan went up to the Flamengo keeper to shake hands with him and the keeper booted fuck out of him   Cops then dragged the fan away and let their Rottweilers munch on him for a few seconds  Attendance was just over 101000 - that was the official attendance but guys round me reckoned it was much higher than that. Never experienced anything like that and never will again. Went to the replay the following week after a draw, only 90000 turned up for it but was still great. A few weeks later after returning to the UK, there was an accident at the stadium injuring 60 people. Capacity started to be reduced from that point on.  My first ever game abroad was Sparta Prague in 1991 - country was Czechoslovakia back then. The whole city was a poor shithole back then and the stadium was awful. Went on supporters bus on my own, never knew anyone - 16 years old with backpack and a carry oot - loved it. All those years later I’ll be back at Ibrox tonight to watch us against that same club.

Curious what other bears experiences abroad have been like seeing teams other than the famous.
Ended up in a city near Frankfurt so ended up there in my first foreign non-gers abroad game. Aye nay doubt itd be them, seethed a little bit.
Out in the sticks and on the way up random roadside bars with very reasonable (UK pub standard prices but better bevs). Getting into the ground was a bit of a piss take and took ages, few entrances for all stands and proper searches. Atmosphere awesome, smoking in a stadium is a novelty, pints of better than Scottish pub prices and straight to your seat. Cheap and good food and booze. Passionate crowd, none of whom seemed to leave till 20mins after enjoying the party. Even tho they'd only pumped Helsinki. Trains after a nightmare but nothing worse than the subway.
Only downside was seeing all the scarfs and tops from the final. Was seething but own fault for ending up there, still worth it.
Overall impressed, Germany looks after it's fans in a way top 5 leagues and the UK don't come close to matching.

Looking to get to more foreign grounds, Gers games or no, any experiences from fellow gers?

In rugby you can buy a earpiece to hear what the refs saying. Well from my memory it was a common thing a decade or 2 ago, not sure if it is now.

OT I think the VAR process has got better, certain ones where the ref is told the decision. In high profile games in big stadiums (like Europe), not sure why the ref should have to go to his wee screen no one sees. Put it up on the big screens like rugby and he can chat it through with the TMO. Much better with fans, can see the process and what they're looking at even without audio. Strangely football seems a sport which is so reluctant to accept and adopt what's been successfully done in other sports for years and has to have it's own shite twist, to the detriment of all watching.
