Butland would be my choice. For the way he carries himself on and off the park.

Would genuinely be tempted to just throw Lovelace in if Roofe is injured.
I have no idea how good he is, but unless he starts scoring own goals, i fail to see how it can be much worse.

tommyw reacted to The Moonlighter in 164 Years Ago Today. Peter Campbell.
Founder Peter Campbell was born at Garelochhead on the 6th March 1857.
Peter came from a more privileged background than his fellow Pioneers.
His father John was a harbour master, his mother Mary was sister of Sir James Jenkins, honorary surgeon to Queen Victoria. The family home was “Craigellan”, a large sandstone villa in the lochside village of Garelochhead.
A life on the ocean wave was always seemingly inevitable for the youngest of our founders given the sea-faring family to which he belonged but it was the ocean wave that tragically claimed his life at the age of 25.
In the early 1870’s Peter moved to Glasgow and joined the Barclay Curle shipyard as an apprentice.
When he and his friends Peter and Moses McNeil and William McBeath struck upon the idea of forming a football club it was no doubt a welcome release from the Clyde-side for Peter.
He served a five-year apprenticeship with Barclay Curle and a further two years as a journeyman until 1879 while playing for the newly-formed Rangers.
He was one of the better players in the fledgling side. Indeed he was described in annuals of the time as one of most outstanding players of the period.
Like his fellow founders, Campbell played in that first match in May 1872 and went on to become a pivotal player for Rangers.
Campbell, who was vice-captain of Rangers, played for Glasgow against Sheffield in 1876 when he and Moses became the first Rangers players to gain representative honours. He scored five goals in the 1876/77 Cup campaign when Rangers made it all the way to their first final but as previously described they agonisingly lost 3-2 in a second replay to Vale of Leven.
His last match for Rangers was a Scottish Cup tie against the dominant Queen’s Park which was lost 5-1 in September 1879 and then he became one of the first Scottish players to move to England when he joined Blackburn Rovers and played for them briefly before hanging up his boots.
The smell of the salt was too strong in his nostrils. He is said to have had seven spells at sea with the London-based merchant ship Margaret Banks in the next three years and then, fatefully, he was on board the St Columba which was bound for Bombay with coal when it left Penarth in South Wales in January 1883.In horrific weather the boat never got past the Bay of Biscay off western France and Peter was pronounced drowned on March 3.The youngest of our founders died aged just 25.On Saturday 22nd July 2017, after a period of negotiation with Penarth Council, we unveiled a memorial plaque at Penarth Pier to commemorate the life of Peter Campbell and his contribution in the formation of Rangers Football Club. The memorial was funded by our Restoration of Rangers Graves Project.
We’re fortunate to have something more tangible to remember Peter Campbell by.He was a member of the first Rangers’ side to win a trophy, the Glasgow Merchants’ Charity Cup in 1879,and there’s an incredible story behind the medal that Peter won that day.
Fellow Rangers supporter William Mason contacted us to tell of how one of his friends had found this medal belonging to Peter Campbell in a park in East Kilbride in 1968. A few years ago his friend loaned the medal to Rangers and Peter Campbell’s medal is on display in the Blue Room at Ibrox.
This is a permanent reminder of the contribution Peter Campbell made in forming our great Club.
Today as we charge towards our 55th League title we remember Founder Peter Campbell.

If there are only a thousand or so left then I don't think that can really be described as poor sales, in fact after watching the fucking shite we are having to watch I'd say the sales are fucking miraculous.

He also moved his family to Scotland and has said only good things about the club.
It isn’t a case of reaping what you sow. Does being “arrogant” (in your opinion) mean people should mock his apprearance, go on to pictures of his sons football and give him abuse? Etc etc.
Social media is a fucking curse and it brings out the worst in people. If that is the abuse he gets for absolutely nothing then I’m glad I tend to steer clear of social media (If you are interested read the book ‘the chaos Machine’ - all about Facebook, Twitter and YouTube and how it alters out behaviours)

Dunno, but it seems like we must spend a chunk of time practicing throwing the ball to Tav just so he can take a shite throw-in!  Think I saw it about 5 times today.  The one time Dessers actually took it, he fucked it up too!

Coaching is Beale's background so where the fuck is it? Poor passing, poor control is a theme throughout the squad, crossing, shooting, players not knowing their roles at set pieces. It looks like a team of random players found just in time for kick off, there isn't one aspect of the game we can point to as a positive other than goalkeeping.

Just when you think we have a diamond of a keeper again who enjoys being here he steps it up just a little bit more

Jack Butland has called on Rangers to summon the spirit of Bill Struth as they look to spook PSV.

The Dutch giants have been installed as favourites to reach the Champions League in the second leg in Eindhoven and gain revenge for last year’s upset after rescuing a 2-2 draw at Ibrox on Tuesday. But new No.1 Butland has warned those rushing to write off his team ahead of Wednesday’s return clash to think again.

The keeper revealed how boss Michael Beale dipped into legendary Gers gaffer Struth’s catalogue of quotes as he delivered his stirring team talk in the build-up to Tuesday’s first-leg clash. And with those words still ringing in his ears, he’s now told Peter Bosz’s Eredivisie outfit that Rangers are ready to repeat that famous victory of 12 months ago and clinch a £20million golden group-stage ticket. The Ibrox shot-stopper said: “People like to write Rangers off. The great Mr Struth said that himself.

“People write us off, they forget we’re Rangers. If people want to write us off, if they want to call them favourites, so be it.

“But we’re looking forward to the tie. We walk past [the Struth quote] every day at the training ground, we walk past it at the stadium.

“I’ve looked into it. Of course, when I signed I looked into the history but this is a quote we walk past every day. The manager showed it to us again on Tuesday.

“It’s something people expect of us but people also like to write us off. So do that if you will. We’ve got to go there and do the right job. We’ve put ourselves in a good position to do so. It could have been a little bit better, it could have been worse. But we go there off a confident performance.”

Butland admits he can already feel the weight of history dragging down on his shoulders every time he pulls on a Gers jersey. But it’s a burden he’s more than happy to bear as he seeks to write his own name into the club’s storied annals.

“You can’t get away from it here,” he said. “No matter where you walk in the building, at the training ground, there are pictures of cup final wins, league wins, European nights. The trophy room.

“You can’t get away from winning at Rangers so for us it’s a constant with the club. The point of being here, and why I want to be here, is to be a part of that history and to win as well.

“You can’t get away from it. And you feel it. The reason why the atmosphere is like it was on Tuesday night is because they have been there and done it before.

"They know what it’s like and they know how special it is to get in the Champions League and to get to European finals. Hopefully we can do just that.”

    Champions League.
We're either going to improve or we aren't. If we don't improve then we'll struggle in the EL too anyway.
If we manage to beat PSV again to get into the CL then we must have improved and will take more confidence from that anyway. If we get back to a decent standard to be able to make it there  then we will have a very good chance of finishing 3rd being in pot 3 and hopefully getting a kinder group this year.

Every supporter where possible should get along. It'll be one of the best thing you ever see relating to the club. You'd easily go back at least once a season.
