Considering about 80 % of our corners are won by the defenders and cleared. It was strange to commit the entire team forward and not set up to defend the counter.  For years we have been poor from corners and at times it feels like the importance of them is lost on the team.

One of those nights. We really needed to score early and then build on it. Once they scored we never really looked like getting back on level terms. Effort was there from start to finish but just didn't have enough quality on show tonight. Far to often we were caught in possession by wanting one extra touch or over hitting passes. Coupled with some strange defensive tactics which saw us wide open to the counter on a few occasions.

I get Dessers going down but that ball was winnable and he has to be stronger.

After the efforts of Thursday evening tonight was all about getting through the tie.  Not the best performance with quite a few looking heavy legged in the second half.

They lost with a man down at a tough venue against a good team, it happens. Yesterday we were nowhere near good enough and lost at home with over 30 attempts at goal. We got away with one today but we were really of it yesterday with to many failures on the pitch.

Motherwell played well. But we started poorly and lost a real cheap goal which then set the tone of chasing the game with little or no composure in front of goal. Injuries now look to be catching up with us and we really need guys like Cantwell, Cortes and Sima back in the team ASAP. Especially with European games now back on the schedule. Lundstram and Diomande looked to be running on empty towards the end with Jack being kept on the bench he's obviously another that's one that's just making up the numbers.

Goldson has been second best to everyone one on one challenge.
