There's such a litany of errors strung together by the board culminating in the position we find ourselves in too. It's not just Wilson.
Across the city they brought in Postecoglu and gave him a stack of money to sign players like Hatate, Maeda, and Kyogo - players he trusts, knew would improve them and most importantly fit into the style he wanted to play.
We seemingly can't do that with Gio because the board done that with a totally incompetent manager that was appointed against all reason and rationale who proceeded to spunk £10+m up the wall on mostly shite.
So now we have all recruitment in the hands of someone whose idea of a 'Rangers player' has to either come from Belgium or have long term underlying injury concerns.

Wilson does not have a clue. A suit with zero empathy with players who runs a football department. Not sure this part of the buisness model is going to work out.  Think he might make a good double glazing salesman.

His signing to address our RW issue doesn't even make the fucking bench today. Honestly, get this cunt the fuck out of our club.

Let’s be honest, them winning the league last year was a colossal failure and should’ve seen someone like Wilson sacked. They had 7 senior outfield players FFS in July and we’d just went a season unbeaten. 
 
They have got their recruitment absolutely spot on for the past 3 windows and have a clear playing style. We’ve not had a decent transfer window since the start of the 55 season…

I genuinely thought the same it’s a real surprise we haven’t added any talent from the eredivisie. Given most of the management team have a lot of knowledge from that league. You get the sense most of these buys are Wilson signings.

I genuinely thought that when GvB and his management team came in they'd be bringing in some of the best emerging talent from Holland they way the fat Aussie did with Japanese players. Yet another example of us being let down in a recruitment sense.
 

It's the failure to address the obvious shortcomings that is the biggest problem. It was absolutely obvious that we needed a new keeper, a RW, a box to box midfielder and three reliable strikers (we signed one to go alongside an unfit Morelos in the last year of his contract).
We don't seem to trust our own youth players to step up even though we spend money on players of a similar age on loan or permanent signings.
What was the point of signing Davies and Yilmaz for a combined £7-8M ? If the former isn't fit / injured and the latter can't contribute to the first team right away?  If we are spending £8M we should be bringing in players who immediately improve the first team.
The whole system is not fit for purpose and the European run last season was the ultimate in papering over the cracks.

Robertson should have been hounded after Australia 

James sands is not and never will be a centre half. Whether he swapped jerseys wi that arsehole or not, I don't care. But he should not be playing the position he is at our club right now.
He has had pass marks on a couple of games but I have never, for even a fucking second, thought that he should be playing there when we have a fit squad. 
Why do we persist in this square peg in round hole?

Lundstram was utter gash today, barely any of his aggression was controlled.
At least two times today he tried to be overly physical instead of just playing the ball and ended up on his arse with them getting the ball in dangerous areas.
Playing like that is just as useful as being meek.

Don't forget the money for Tillman as well.

How exactly do folk think its a magic money tree?  There's been plenty commented already to show how the sums brought in are/ will be over £100m. That's not magic money tree stuff but hard cash.
We've spent some of it on players and EH etc, but we effectively put together a EL level squad which was fair enough as that revenue was guaranteed this season. 
We've been told for years we budget for not qualifying for Europe but obv aim to do so which generates additional income.
So we planned for EL this season, qualified for the CL, and Gio obviously expected additions which haven't happened.
Wtf not if its surplus from what we planned for like in previous years? Why wasn't quality added with the new unexpected multi million pound windfall?
If its servicing more of the loans than planned for, or prioritising a building over creating a squad that could compete better on the CL (points generate even more millions) or should win the league (and more chance of a huge euro pot next season) then that's absolute negligence.

We lost the league last season by the way. No one thinks we have a magic wand, but lots believe we brought in far more cash in the last year than we ever budgeted for. So to push the boat out a little in order to increase our chances of winning the league and qualifying for the Champions League again isnt really that far fetched. 
 
we sold 2 of our best players and brought in 7. The team that won the league last year kept all their best players and brought in 9. Mental eh 

At what point does prudence become negligence given the glaring deficiencies?
It's a bigger gamble to think our current squad is enough, than it is to go spend some money on (for example) a proper RW when you consider the reward for winning the league again this year is automatic CL qualification. 

We’ve absolutely fucked it, you’d have to be fuckin blind to think otherwise. Not for the first time by the way. 
Is the new transfer and business model? If so, its fuckin absolute baws.

Why are we the only team where players need 6 months to bed in? None of the celtic signings needed time to settle in. Newcastle signed a player and then less 24hrs later he’s playing against Liverpool at Anfield and played really well. If you are at the level we need you need to be able to hit the ground running. Absolute nonsense that players need time to bed in. It’s football for ffs the main principles of the game are the same regardless of who you are playing with. So if he needs 6 months to learn the basics of playing football then he definitely hasn’t improved us. 

Because they have made a blinding job of that already. 
the reason for panic and frustration is that many of us have read this script before. 
 
The money this club has made since the turn of the year to what we have invested in the sqaud leaves a lot to be desired. 
 
We made a Europa league final last season and have guaranteed champions league football . We should have been building from a position of strength and pushing on from that but like 55 the board appear to have instead chose to want to stand still. 

celtic are better than last season -spent a lot and won’t drop as many points as they did pre Christmas. Their goal difference is already 20 vs our 11.
So it’s going to be close to the 100 point mark to win the title.
We’ve already dropped points. So the board have to ask the question is this squad as it is good enough to only drop points in 5 or 6 matches from here?
Surely they know it’s not. So very  puzzling that we haven’t gone after at least one quality attacking player. We won’t win the league with Matondo or Wright lining up regularly. 
It’s a shame. Because if we had managed to land that real bit of quality, the rest of the team is probably good enough to do it. But I fear we will fall short now.
We haven’t done a good enough job of moving the squad filler players on. We have a lot of 6/10 players. Taking up wages. And short of really quality in the starting eleven in one or two places.

All those players and on the right wing it's Scott Wright or Rabbi Matondo 🙄 we don't have enough quality 

This is the point. We have a lot of potential strength until you realize we have a huge amount of players (big players) not squad fillers who are either injured for months or are more difficult to find than Lord Lucan.
We know around half of them, or slightly more will be out again just after returning, as well.

It looks strong on paper, but there 4 or 5 on longterm sick that really leaves us short.
