This country should probably look at why it’s football team finished wae a point and a goal and have celebrated more about another country losing in the final.

It’ll hold Scotland back for years

I'm not sexist in the slightest but there seems to be a lot of females in that crowd.  A lot of kids going to school with creased uniforms tomorrow.

BlackpoolBear1952 reacted to BladeinPeace in Welcome to Rangers, John Lundstram.
Blades fan here given this thread got a mention on one of our boards, thought I'd give my take on Lundstram.
The bad: he's been with us for four years and the first two he struggled to get near the side. He's 27 and he's only really had one good season. When we went up to the Prem I don't think anyone thought we'd want hang on to him, let alone start him. Last season, I don't resent him holding out for better money, everyone knows we were paying lower wages than most of the division, but he definitely didn't deserve to be the highest paid in our team and there weren't a flood of offers for him elsewhere. Felt like he'd got the Billy big-time attitude and fans turned on him.
The good: When we went up to the Prem and the other players were on holiday, Lunny had gone abroad to find a top fitness coach to work his arse off and get in the team. The big change was that when we dropped the free role in behind the front two and went for a flat midfield three, he stepped up and shocked everyone with how good he was. I'd call him a defensive midfielder first but that's unfair to how good he can look playing box-to-box. When his heart was in it: fantastic workrate, never shirks a tackle. When we played Villa back in the Championship he took Grealish out the game, including one absolutely thundering challenge where he won the ball cleanly but sent Jack flying. Very well-rounded player, good range of passing, gets forward, the odd trick up his sleeve, and should have more goals to his name when you see how cleanly he strikes a ball.
I don't know what kind of player Rangers need right now but if it's a very solid all-round midfielder then you could've found a gem. On the other hand, it's still an open question as to whether he'll be one of those players who looks back on that one good season they had. Yeah, we're all a bit bitter about last season but he's put in some bad performances by anyone's standards. Tailed off to the end off his good season but so did a lot of players with the lockdown and whatever. If you get his best out of him he'll be a proper fan's favourite.

The media have panned us weekly for about 4 years now. Literally linking us to any and every bad news story going:
Sandcastles destroyed, assaults, fights, frauds, money laundering etc. All of these stories nothing to do with the club but they delve into these peoples pasts and link them to us.

Then we move onto the players and the club itself. Debt-ridden, admin 3035, players singing FTP, Gerrard not allowed to defend the title without saying the wrong words, celebrations hammered etc etc.

Fuck the media, they’ve not been fair and impartial to us for the best part of a decade.

Expected nothing else from a bitter, alky fenian apologist that lucked his way into the competition. He should be slaughtered for that, team selection looked like it was drawn from a tombola.

BlackpoolBear1952 reacted to The Dude in Rangers boss deserves Manager of the Year awards and complaints are disingenuous
Within minutes of the final whistle blowing at Hampden yesterday to signal the end of St. Johnstone’s most successful season in their history, social media was awash with complaints that Perth boss Callum Davidson was the ‘real’ Manager of the Year rather than Steven Gerrard – but the complaints from the likes of arch Rangers critic Michael Stewart are, at best, disingenuous as they handily miss out several key facts.

Ultimately Rangers winning the League is seen by the hateful moonhowlers as us being anti catholic.
Its truly delicious how one League win has them straight back to 1990's levels of delusional paranoia.
    Here's to 2 in a row.

I can respect the view of a Scotsman who believes in independence. It will never be my view but the mistake they make is getting on board with the SNP in it's current guise. The older SNP were often known as the 'tartan tories' such were their policies. The problem with the new SNP, is in a cynical way similar to the New Labour experiment they drastically moved away from the core of the party. It made them electable on some level but changed many of their traditional policies. Clever politicians like Sturgeon realised that if they could take a lot of the East End Republican voters away from Labour, sweep up the lovey artistic voters with socialist policies and play to the gallery with North East anti-English lunatics they could corner the market. So while I can respect a Bear for believing in independence, I can't understand a Bear  who would vote for this party that is so against our way of life, traditions, history. This new incarnation is twisted with bitterness, infighting, division and hatred so far removed from those that just had an ideological belief in independence. If Scotland became independent you'd have a significant priority of voters being treated as pariahs in their own country. They don't govern for all Scots, only their kind of Scots. I can never be on board with that.

    STATEMENT

Having taken stock of events during the last few days of the political and media coverage with commentary we update our members as follows.
    Grand Master Statement
The Grand Orange Lodge of Scotland note with alarm and dismay the First Minister Nicola Sturgeon and former Justice Minister Humza Yousaf’s reaction to three mass gatherings within the city of Glasgow recently. Clear and obvious political bias is demonstrated in their public condemnation of gatherings that breached covid guidelines. Politicians actively encouraged people to gather in support of protests to disrupt the lawful removal of people from Glasgow following a lengthy court process who have no legal right to be there.
The gathering at Ibrox and George Square on Saturday similarly breached covid guidelines. The response from the former Justice Secretary Humza Yousaf in particular, clearly demonstrated his and the Scottish Government’s double standards when he mentions anti Catholic prejudice yet ignores attacks on Scottish Orange Halls. He has once again criticised Rangers FC for not amplifying their message to supporters prior to Saturday. What is his agenda?
The former justice minister has failed to publicly condemn anti Protestant attacks on Scottish Orange Halls. There have been arson attacks, paint bomb attacks and vile anti Protestant and anti-Semitic graffiti which were not commented upon or publicly condemned. Neither was any support or assistance offered to the minority Protestant community that Orangemen and women belong to.
One Scotland many cultures is laughable when this Government discriminates against minorities like us. The Loyal Orange Institution of Scotland demands equality of treatment for all Scots not just those whose politics or religion suits the government’s agenda.

I don't have an issue with these kinds of things. Don't doubt the emergency service get that kind of shit. It's the implication that this is a Rangers issue when all the evidence says Celtic fans do the same thing. Celtic behaviour is being whitewashed in an effort to isolate us. It's sinister. It'll end up with us being dehumanised and treated as scum.
Nazis, KKK, etc.. it'll all be trotted out with impunity. When it's flamed by the government and sections of the media it becomes a state-led attempt to create a hated segment of society that can be used as a boogieman, the battle against which helps drive your own cultural changes.

    This.
Gerrard has an aura. He had it as a player. He’s got it as a manager.
    Supreme confidence, zero arrogance.
Everything he does, is done in the best possible way.
He was the right man, at the right time, for the right job, in the right place!

We needed a manager who understood what Rangers are all about, the club, the history, the support.
Someone with a pedigree and a reputation within the game.
Who could project the right image, and help us rise back to the top.
Usually, two out of three isn't bad.
But to get everything in one package, wrapped up in a winning personality .....
I think Gerrard has been one of our best ever signings.
