Long Shadow

My Partner works every Sunday so any game played then I can't attend. 
My Son is 5 and my Daughter is 8. 
I got home from work with a carry out and put the flags and scarves up and made a little buffet for us 3 and got them to sit and watch some of the game  they did get a bit bored especially first half. 
But by fuck I made sure they sat and watched Rangers lift that cup and told them this is what Rangers are all about. I hope when I'm no longer here they look back on days like this and remember the Rangers memories that we shared.

Whoever it is that goes to walk their dog in times like this, get out that fucking door, woof woof!

As someone who has a daughter, how hard is it to amend it “all my kids” or “all my children”?
I know it’s not exactly the most pressing thing in the world but it just sticks in my craw every time I hear that line. Plenty of us have daughters who are going to follow in our footsteps!
Anyway, that’s my moan for the night. I suppose it’s better to be annoyed at a song than a performance in a semi final so all in all life is good!

As an immediate act, a few of us were going to send flowers to his parent’s house today with a note of condolence - having slept on it, I’m going to do it on behalf of the whole forum
We can discuss @RFC55s idea about a fundraiser as a team and post back - I’ll speak to the family too and ask if there’s anything specific they’d want us to do 

I'm no sure what to say. I hope I don't say something wrong or offend anyone but I'll try.
It's just fucking shite. Never knew Ben personally. Only knew him from interacting on here. It's strange cause you form an opinion on someone and paint a picture of them based on nothing but words written on a football internet page but with Ben I always thought he seemed like a genuinely good guy. Then you read about him from other good posters.and it's just echoes that. He had his troubles and he was strong enough to share them and reach out but he was genuinely the first to reach out and give advice or show sympathy for anyone else going through things. To be in such a dark place whilst trying to shed light on others is a huge testament to the shape of a man.  
I'm sorry for his friends and family. I'm sorry for those who knew him. I'm sorry for the strangers who reached out to him. I'm sorry this happened. Some of you will be questioning why and beating yourself up but you can't. Loads of good people on here reached out. You'll never understand it, nobody can.
To anyone out there who’s hurting - it’s not a sign of weakness to ask for help. It’s a sign of strength. If you're going through hell, keep going. It gets better. I hope I'm not out of order for using this as a guide or promotion but the Mind Matters forum on here is genuinely one of the best things that exists anywhere. We have to learn something from this. We have to use it somehow and if this teaches us anything it's that we can all use a little help or give a little help and we can all do that in mind matters. Even if you're not comfortable asking for help in an open group platform, there are many good folks on there who have their inboxes open. Myself included.

Terrible news to get last night tbh.
at least now his heads at peace but feel devastated for his family and loved ones who will be left wondering what else they could’ve done, but once the head gets that way it’s hard as fuck to get out of it.
his last post on here was ironically offering support to another member who was struggling which shows the measure of the boy.
@psb07158or any of the other admin, if there are any plans for a just giving or whatever then keep us updated and we can either use it to provide support for his family or a decent sized donation to mental health charities

What a time to be alive but. That whole run in was unreal. We were the talking point of Europe and our fans were the best I've ever been part of.

For some there’s always an over reaction, if we lose we have a team of duds who are bottle merchants and if we win we’re world beaters. 
To be fair last night we played like a team of duds which was hard to take but football can change very quickly and I still believe we’re well capable of turning things around and bringing home the title again.

If what’s reported happens, it’s an excellent chance to have some closure on 55 and refocus. 
 
The current management team and players did exceptionally well last year, with a laser-like focus on achieving one goal and one goal only. But thats been done for over 6 months now and we’ve barely kicked a ball since. 
 
Whoever comes in, has the perfect opportunity to reset everyone’s minds for a new challenge. League cup final, 56, CL all in the space of 8-9 months. 
 
The more I think about it, the current management team have underperformed this season and haven’t been able to refocus the players to the job ahead, rather than looking back at past achievements. 
 
Gerrard made 55 our Everest and delivered it, but he’s struggling to get those players to climb the mountain again. It’s a great opportunity for someone to come in and go for a bigger mountain…

If Gerrard leaves, and I think he probably will, I won’t be throwing a rope over the rafters about it. He has done a job for us and stopping the ten is something he should be remembered for. However, it’s an old cliche but it’s true never the less, no one is bigger than the Rangers. If he leaves he goes with us 4 points clear and with a decent squad. The timing of this is a bit of a bummer but you would hope that there will be a contingency put together. Also because of the international break, it gives us a wee bit of time to sort something out. We’ll know soon enough what the outcome will be, if he’s away then I wish him no harm and as I said earlier I won’t be sticking my head in the oven over it. We constantly say that we’re a massive club, well massive clubs do what’s needed and carry on regardless. The king is dead, long live the king. W.ATP.

We were driving through port glasgow on the way to WB, and I said the port was full of papes, lo and behold up on the hill on the road to kilmalcom, flew one of the biggest Union Flags I've seen for ages, proudly in somebody's garden..cannot wait to come home, seriously,  I know you all complain about it, and rightly so in most cases (SNP and all that shit), but I need to be back amongst my own, badly.
