Smith was interested in the Scotland gig, they wouldn't have pursued him if they weren't given some encouragement, that to me tell me he's not totally against the idea of returning to management, the fact that we've not tried to get him back in when McInnes knocked us back tells me he wouldn't have been interested, if he was then he has enough contacts in the game to make that known to Dave King.

McGinn would cost around £3m and I doubt he'd even consider us even though he'd be a brilliant signing.
Dylan McGeouch should be the one we go after, he's been the stand out midfielder in Scotland this year, out of contract and already signed for us as a youngster so I'd imagine he wouldn't be against the possibility 
I like that big Kipre at Motherwell, wee bit of a rough diamond but I think with a better team and better players around him he could become a right good player, he's just broke into the Ivory Coast side squad too.
I'd go for Greame Shinnie at Aberdeen as well, he's more of a.CM these days but I'd rather have him as a LB, I think he was the besr LB in Scotland for a couple of years, even the season Andy Robertson was at Dundee Utd I thought Shinnie was the stand out, just in a very unfashionble side, he dragged ICT to the Scottish Cup in 2015 as well, he's a leader and a winner, we could do with more of those in the  squad.

Mate our squad is nowhere near the tims in terms of quality, I think your kidding yourself in the way many us do when trying to tell ourselves we aren't as shite as we actually are.

This is part and parcel of being the Rangers manager.
If your not prepared for it or unable to adapt tactically to it, you shouldn't be in the job.

Yup said the exact same to my old man the other day, that game is a defining moment in this whole push for 10IAR, if they become the first to do back to back trebles and start next season looking for 8IAR, It totally refocuses them for what they need to do and sets us back even further.
Even when we done 9 we knew they could beat us, we usually won the games that mattered most but you hadin in your mind that they could pull a rabbit out the hat sometimes, if we don't get past them in the Semi I fear it'll knock a lot of confidence from the players and the supporters heading into what is going to be a massive few years in Scottish Football, theres a sense that apathy could set in and it's hard to see how we'd come out of that in the current climate, we're in danger of being just another hibs or sheep to that mob.

Donald Findlay couldn’t sing the sash in a pub full of Rangers fans without some fanny videoing it. If there’s a celtic player regularly playing fives in a Rangers top then someone would have a picture. 

Some of the stuff I’ve seen posted about him is mental.
Was brought up in one of the most successful academy systems ever, won it all as a player, was assistant manager to a side who reached the World Cup final and then won four titles in six years at Ajax when he broke out on his own.
Two years ago he was one of the most highly sought after coaches in Europe and because he’s made a couple of bad career moves - to clubs who were never great fits to begin with -everybody is making out like he’s a McCoist-esque appointment
He’s just about the closest thing we can get to a Rodgers level of appointment and that’s what people have been saying we have needed for almost two years now.

Like I say, I think its incredibly naive to believe a current taig is kicking about in a public space with a Rangers top on and no-one would get a picture of it, doesn't need to be any of the group he's with, phones are attached to young folks hands now and they snap everything.
 
On a side note, you're a lucky man, whatever Gym you're going to sounds like some kind of secret heaven, I go to a few different gyms (Pure gym full membership gets you into all of them) and my mrs is a PT in Exercise 4 Less in the old Destiny, all you ever see is people taking photos of themselves or other people

Could be right with Dorrans, we're overloaded in midfield but regardless of age he's still head n shoulders better than Kenny McLean and if he can get in the squad I'd still hold out hope for Dorrans

I like Bates in that he's just a rugged defender who enjoys defending, plenty like their defenders to be able to carry the ball and show compossure but as a non nonsense CB I think there is a place for him at club amd country level
