Yes he was ,but as others have pointed out so were kevin kyle , ian black ,cribari etc . None of them played a part in winning this title though and its winning this that we should be celebrating . First home game next season ,invite them all if that helps us move on but not to celebrate a title win they played no part in . Ally being there only takes the spotlight away from the current team & staffs achievement , let them enjoy what they worked hard for .

Time as they say is a great healer , IMO the hurt of his last acts at the club (never mind the shit football we had to endure) are still too raw . The winning of this title has nothing to do with Ally , and it's this title were celebrating .
If some within the club have decided to build bridges with him , then there's not much the support can do , but to me an invite to the first home game next season would be the better option rather than taking focus away from the squad and management team who actually achieved the winning of the championship . I would also have been a bit more receptive to his return if it didn't seem to be part of a daily record led agenda .

Is it a coincidence that it's the DR who started this McCoist to Ibrox idea?
McCoist flopped as a manager, which I can live with because no manager is gauranteed to be a success, but I'm starting to struggle with the way that a lot of people still make out that he was really hard done by and is some sort of victim when it's pretty clear that he can play politics as well as anybody else can.

No offence Dude but there's slim pickings to crow about amongst that list.  35K at Hampden and the first home game of 12/13 says more about the fans loyalty rather than anything to do with Ally's managerial skills.  Of the two youngsters named only one is beginning to show some consistent form under a decent manager.  If my memory serves me well we only beat Motherwell, so a Premiership side, not sides.
I loved Ally McCoist the player.  His playing days will never be in question for me as he was a hero to me as a lad.  The managerial years I would prefer to gloss over out of respect for the man.
As for Ally being anywhere near the celebrations on the last day of the season the very suggestion is ridiculous I'm afraid.  As stated a number of times throughout this thread Ally took his laps of glory after the two titles he won on our return.
This is all about the here and now and we will raise the roof for Mark and Davie as that's what this season is all about.  Ally anywhere near it would sadly be a negative distraction we can well do without.

No, Ally should not be part of the celebration.
His part in "the journey" has already been celebrated when we picked up the trophies for the 3rd and 2nd (renamed1st) divisions and their subsequent promotions.
What we will be celebrating now is the winning of the Championship and with it promotion, by the folk who got us there in the season 2015/16.
That is from the Manager and all the way down to the lowest member of the backroom staff.

The campaign to reintegrate the dud is well under way.
His msm friends are getting him into print and testing the waters for his resurgence. I expect him to be in a studio for the beast game.
I would rather stop despising him tbh, but this will only happen when the anger reduces over time. Too raw now.
He deserves nothing from us now, and should be included in no way in any celebrations. He is a failure, a costly failure, and our success this year is because we got rid of him and got capable people in.
If folk want to reminisce over his time as a player fine, but that's not what this is about. It's about his part in the journey. Of all that happened during the last few years the biggest embarrassments were caused by him. His players, his teams, his failures.
And then he chose to take the fully paid gardening pay from his strapped beloved club. Aye right. Indefensible.
Hope he doesn't darken our doors for many a year, and certainly shouldn't be invited by any one associated with Rangers to do so at present.

It's very important to distinguish between the "haters" and those who simply cannot forgive him for taking so much money out of the club after he left. Entitled to it or not, he could easily have restarted his media career, but chose to wait until his contract at Ibrox was coming to an end.
IMO that's the behaviour of someone more interested in the money than the club.

Us "mere mortals" are the ones who stood by this club when it needed us most , Us mere mortals are the ones who continued to follow week in week out despite the constant never ending shitstorm surrounding us , the god awfull football on display , us mere  mortals are the very reason this club is still the great institution it always has been when everyone and their dug was lining up for a kick of it

I am not sure what exactly i have contributed to rangers but one thing i can guaratee is that a higher percantage of mine and many other on the forums monthly wage goes towards rangers than any of ally's ever will

Yeah , it's frustrating for fans who want to see the top guys in the division face each other . Most boxers don't really give a fuck who they fight , but their managers certainly do especially if they have a good ticket seller. They will do all they can to protect their man ,not through any concern for the boxers welfare but more to protect the cash cow . Happens in Scotland , happens all over .I think Frampton will stay at the higher weight no matter the outcome of the Santa Cruz fight , never fails to amaze me how these guys can get down to 8" 10 when he walks about maybe two stone heavier normally . Can also see him going back to America again as Mcguigan knows the yanks love an "irish" fighter.
As for Blackwell , the trainer really has to be braver in that situation and not be afraid to fall out with his boxer and pull him out , though to be fair no cunt can see whats happening inside the brain . Hope the boy can make a recovery .

Agreed, and basically what Saunders was saying.
Can't blame them in a way, you'd do the same yourself if it was your kid, and thought that way.
Could even be called good management, and I believe that's what McGuigan is doing with Frampton, as he knows the Cuban is top notch and would beat Carl, so Santa Cruz a better option, though still a big step up in class.

    Blackwell being taken to hospital.
Fury fight should be on  now.
Interesting listening to Saunders there, he was saying they've offered Eubank a return twice, offered just under a million, much much more than Eubnak made tonight. But as he says, if he beat Eubank again, that would really fuck Eubank's career for a good while, so Eubank's avoiding him. . Made sense what he was saying, he came across well.
Fury fight off, medics with Blackwell away to hospital.

It's a shame. It was better when you could support the other teams in Europe, when there was less hatred about.
I remember back in the day rooting for Dundee United v Barca or Monchengladbach, Hearts v Bayern, St Mirren v Mechelen and Hibs v Videoton.
    Changed days.

I agree, to me it's because they were not challenged for so long, they thought they could continually make up any old lies, shite and get away with it. No one challenged them, so it was open season.
That's why I can never get my head around Bears saying ignore, them, or pointing out the lies and challenging them is only giving them the oxygen they want?
They were, and are continually doing it anyway, where it could to the stage they thought they could print, post or say what they wanted, with no come back.
Anyone who doesn't see the damage the lies did especially around the time of ADMIN etc, doesn't really understand what all happened to us.
These obsessed, haters and their lies should be challenged at every turn, and well done to the Board, or the likes of PZJ, D'Art, Chris Graham, the VB's or whomever do challenge the lies these people spread. Hopefully a marker has been laid down now, no more the easy touch, no more lies going unchallenged, you will be held accountable for your actions.

I fear that we've lost that Scotland, the one that I and I dare say you grew up in. I honestly don't recognise the country now. The sad thing is it's our fault. The silent majority who have said and done nothing as those of an Irish Catholic heritage and/or anti British sentiment have wormed their way into influence and power in politics, law, education, media and many other facets of society. And once they are in those positions of power then nepotism is the order of the day and they bring in and on their own type.
Rangers are one of the last bastions of the old Scotland, where it wasn't a bad thing to love and honour your Queen and Country and all that represents. Where you could wave the Union flag and Saltire together and be proud of both.
That's why they hate us so much.
That's why they've tried repeatedly to destroy us.
That's why these fifth columnists within our support are so dangerous.

    Oh come on to fuck.
We've all "lived and breathed Rangers".
McCoist is most certainly a Bluenose but he is also an atrocious manager who has chose to bring players to Ibrox who should never have got anywhere near a Gers strip.
Then played them every fuckin week instead of promoting our youth.
He has contributed more than anyone else to putting us in a position where we are the laughing stock of the whole football world.
Every other person I know who has "lived and breathed Rangers" would not have put their ego and financial health before the club they love!

Well King is about to be calling shots with 14%, but again that seems ok for you as long as it's not 9% Ashley.
Neither of them should be in control, if Ashley wants us he has to back off sell Newcastle then come back to the table. King should just stay away period.

What a weird turn of events, it's funny, I've been saying for god knows how long that players should be picked on merit, Clark, Temps, Mckay, Gallagher, etc all appear to be better options than the ones that Mcdowell/McCoist were continually picking and not dropping regardless of form. Massively hypocritical from Mcdowell here. These lads will offer something different and I welcome that.
People who are slating Ashley/Lambias are forgetting that the players who have not been performing for the best part of three years, as a direct result of bad coaching and the players themselves being poor, have somehow managed to keep their place in the team, suddenly form and merit don't matter.
In conclusion, the gaffer should be picking players on merit, but when the gaffer resigns despite still sticking around and hasn't picked players on merit for god knows how long, he has no right to run to the papers putting us in a bad light.
