Not the prettiest and it never is against st johnstone but we're grinding out these victories when our squad is depleted which can only build the spirit in the squad.
Really impressed with Dowell tonight. It's been a while since we've had a deeper midfielder playing forward passes like that. Bit more game time and a few more options up front he could be quite handy in games like this.
-
Hopefully get a second early on and we can bring off Lundstram and Sima for a wee rest along with getting more minutes for Sterling and Matondo.
-
After the last couple of games you can see he can have moments but overall he's not technically good at all. However, he doesn't need to be.
Dessers just has to be nuisance. See if he just moves about a bit, comes deep and goes out wide he can cause problems because of the supporting cast around him. If he can pull defenders out by doing that it can allow the likes of Sima, McCausland, Cantwell etc. to have space to play and move into.
We seen on Thursday and even yesterday some of his and our best moments came from him just making a movement despite his actual ability on the ball.
It's no great for a 3/4 million pound player in 2023 but there is something we can do with him until better comes in. He just needs to do a bit more.

Fuck it. We've got domestic honours to be piling up again!

What incidents are they even complaining about? There was nothing controversial in the game at all.
It's media driven nonsense. Michael Stewart from the very first foul was trying to stir up some kind of controversy on the refs part and funnily enough it was directed towards one side.

He's been brilliant since coming in regularly. It's one thing not being as bad as Davies or Souttar but to come in and thrive is something else.
He was perfect today with and without the ball. Also gave that wee dick Duk a bit of deserved shit at the end.
A worry with Balogun is injuries, like a lot in our squad, but I actually think not being involved in Europe may actually have benefited him.
Either way him and Goldson - excellent!

Props to this man AGAIN.
Couple of tough moments in defence at the end of the match and just eased the pressure with big collections and punches.
Another in the long legacy of great Rangers goalies.
-
Dug us out so many times down the years and god knows where we'd be without his contribution.
-
The fucking real deal.

That was a true Rangers win there. It wasnt the most pretty or stunning but it was won through pure grit and determination. Bodies on the line and everyone defending as if their life depended on it.
Don't need to go into what PC has done and where he has got us to today as well know but what a fucking job this man is doing.
James Tavernier once again💙

Starts with the full backs for me. Once they two get higher up the park it pushes their wing backs right back and means their wide CBs have to make decisions with Sima and McCausland. With JL and Sterling there is no reason for Tav and Borna to be so conservative.
Dessers is an empty shirt. Roofe on now who will get involved and link up with the 3 behind.

Any quotes?
I just heard it on clyde. It wasn't a "player A, B,C etc." Said he wasn't surprised at what happened today then spoke about macgregor playing well and having to play in virtually 3 different positions
-
Rodgers also throwing all the players apart from macgregor under the bus. Days are numbered when shit like that starts to go down publicly.

Anyone know when that midden last lost two league matches back to back?

That's the best I've seen him in a Rangers shirt. Still looks like he's never seen a football at times - like the first goal for example.
However worked his socks off for the team and did look better holding up the ball and made decent decisions. In fact we were that high up the pitch for Betis' 2nd due to him keeping the ball on that right side, unfortunately it was a comedy errors after he released the ball.
His goal was absolutely brilliant as well and he does look in much better shape over last couple of weeks.
I'm no expecting a world beater but HOPEFULLY with steady improvements we'll have a guy that can at least be useful in the next few months.

Respect from Pellegrini.
Pellegrini is a class guy!

JL has quietely been going about his business for a few months now.
Sterling is a Walter player. Looks dependable, can play in a few positions and will fit right into big games.

That was like a full match there.
Looking decent going forward but getting a bitching the other way around.
Credit to big Dessers for that goal, never knew he had that in him. Sima's finish was lovely as usual.
McCausland sleeping during the first after Tav's poor clearance and the second was a bit of a disaster all over, however, Tav clearly ball watching.
I'd stick on Sterling for Lammers, push Cifu up as he's doing well on the turn and picking out passes. Sterling can also help our McCausland and Tav down that right side and ultimately spare us of Lammers who has been anonymous despite our good play.
I know he will eventually but once Tav turns it on we can go and win this!

Due to the defence weirdly enough. Only conceded 3 league goals since Beale left!
