  1. If the reports are true about Rashid coming our way, from the clips I've seen of him, I would rather keep Clint Hill thanks.
  2. I think you answered your own query mate! Another player who found his level in the Championship, and was unable to make the step up, just like a few others in our squad. A pity coz he started the season quite well.
  3. Would be a terrific signing, but just can't see us forking out 2 mill on one player in the summer, tbh. It would be different if we only required a few players, but we need practically a whole new team!
  4. We are a "sad sevco team"...you came on here just to tell us all that? Wow, you're so original - now you can fuck off.
  5. I agree with a lot of your points mate, but we just don't have any good defensive type midfielders at all in our squad and have been found wanting. We shuffle the pack around on a weekly basis, to more or less the same end result. We lost the midfield battle in both games; all of our midfielders are very similar, and trying to mould Halliday into very good defensive midfielder, has been like trying to square a circle. That's why I am at least cutting Pedro some slack until he gets some of his own players in, and clears out all the dross in the summer.
  6. Watching some of the half hearted tackles from our defenders yesterday was utterly soul destroying. I know there were a lot of bears criticising the full blooded tackle by simunovic, but I wish to fuck we had a couple of defenders who could tackle like that tbh.
  7. If you think I'm going to sit here defending Pedro, then you must be joking. That performance was a disgrace. But we had an 18 year old lad in defence against Roberts, and his inexperience cost us badly at the start. Kiernan, Wallace, Hodson and Toral were all out with injury, so we were always going to be up against it playing a settled team - we even had Miller doing a man marking job on the lego muncher today ffs, because we had no one else. Like I said, it doesn't excuse a disgusting performance today, but I am willing to give him time to assemble his own team.
  8. Ffs, I can't believe we're reaching for the "Pedro Out" banners already. Even all the top managers / coaches in the world would struggle with that lot. Can't we at least wait and see what players he brings in or bins before chasing him out the door?
  9. I agree with a lot of your second part OP, but we've just not got the quality of player to "dictate play" as you put it. That said, the filthy scum might just take their foot off the gas a little, as they have already wrapped up the league. Sadly, this might be our only hope of getting a result at the weekend; so the "try harder, run faster, fight together" that you are alluding to might just work!!
  10. I will have to watch it again mate (which I don't really want to do), but I think both our centre backs were caught out with a simple long ball. Shocking. It was compounded by Haliday not tracking back fast enough to put a defensive tackle in against the runner (magregor) who scored. Basic stuff which has cost us badly, time and time again this season. So yeah, we fucked up!
  11. The players on the 2018 list should be the easiest to negotiate with in the summer. Like a lot of bears, I won't be disappointed to see the back of Kiernan, Niko, Waghorn et al. However, we might be stuck with the players on the 2020 contracts, as they will be on the type of wages that they just won't get in Scotland, or even the lower leagues of England, sadly.
  12. Agree. Going on that first half performance, if the players can't gee themselves up for a semi final against the scum, then they shouldn't be anywhere near our stadium. The manager realised he made a mistake with his starting line-up and changed it second half. Next week, we've got to get 'In their faces' from the start. The way the players were standing off them from the start, as if we were playing Barcelona, was very, very poor. Next week is the perfect time to at least burst their bubble of unbeaten games.
  13. Awful. Poor managerial choices made with the starting line up and the shape of the team was baffling. Dreadful first half performance, with our players standing off them too much. Well done the two young lads in defence who can hold their heads up high. I hope Pedro watches the replay and learns quickly from this, as we badly need to start a lot, lot better next week when we play them. Hope we can get some players back from injury too.
  14. This. He can only work with the tools that he's been given, so I'm waiting to see the players he brings and gets rid off before judging him. And if he wins next week then he will be a legend already!
  15. Spot on. He's not the best player I've ever seen at Ibrox, but I agree with your comment. Sometimes a new manager can vastly improve players who are either just average or very inconsistent over a season. For me, McKay falls into the latter of the two, but I'm hoping Pedro is able to bring Barrie up to the next level in his development, so I'm more than happy if he decides to stay.
  16. Agree with a lot of posts, but there's a good chance too that we might have to keep everyone, unless the board can find the cash to pay off the players still under contract, and therein lies the problem. The exact same predicament McCoist found himself in when he just couldn't shift the dross, as they were on the type of wages they just wouldn't get anywhere else.
  17. I can see where you're coming from with the way we started the second half. Our passing was very poor, and it kind of reminded of the 'snatch and grab' type games Walter Smith used to deliver us, at away games on a regular basis. But going on our first half showing, including the chances both Waghorn and Garner fluffed, and the clinical goals we scored in the second half, I think we deserved our win. So enjoy the moment mate - we just pumped the sheep 3 - 0 in their own midden!! :)
  18. Agree wit the OP. He was brought in as one to develop and deserves a run of games now. Waghorn / Garner were having shockers, and could have been there all day and still not scored. At least with Dodoo, there is bit of an outlet and his control is very good, which means the ball actually sticks in the last third. Said earlier in the season, that I can definitely see a player there.
  19. Spot on. This season is already over for me (apart from the cup). We should clinch third place ok. It's now about Pedro using the remaining games to experiment and identify the dead wood we have in our squad. Once Pedro brings in his own players, and shifts out the dross during the close season, then we will all be in a much better position to judge.
  20. Absolutely spot on. I think there's a lot of fans out there (myself included) waiting to see how this summer transpires. Going by King's timetable, the consolidation season is over - now for the serious stuff. This will require significant investment to attract a better calibre of player than some of the honest journeymen we've had served-up so far.
  21. Fair enough...don't mean they couldn't cope with us in an attacking sense...but I though they struggled with us getting 'in about them' - closing them down with pace etc. They are not used to that. And if we had a proper finisher as a striker, we would have won the game imo.
  22. Completely different type of role for him yesterday; he was part of a midfield 4 (sometimes 5 when Miller drifted back), which completely stifled their supply to Sinclair & Dembele. They simply couldn't cope with our midfield which had pace and energy - the complete opposite to our last visit at the piggery, with the expansive 4-3-3 formation with Barton & Niko, which was awful. He obviously pushed a bit further up the park in the second half and contributed to a terrific goal. Job done!
  23. Good point mate. I was thinking that myself. I used to watch a lot of the African Nations Cup. Individually, there are a lot of very good players in theses countries - defensively though, most of the countries are absolutely shocking, hence why they never seem to get far in the World Cup. But surely that market has got to be 100 X better than trawling the lower English leagues for absolute dross, and paying top dollar for it too!
  24. Tip of the day to Ally McCoist - when you're in a hole mate, please stop digging!
  25. I agree mate that he is indeed entitled to his opinion, like everyone else; but giving the state of our club, and the 'Free-for-all' policies of the previous regime, he would be more wise to hold his own counsel, as there's still a lot of bad blood around for fairly obvious reasons.
