Stephen Dornan = SNP who was instrumental in this
When will we wake up fully and finally realise that the SNP are no fans of Rangers and in fact, where possible, proactively go out of their way to damage us or our support
Wish Rangers would target these corrupt fenian bastards

I love that and is exactly what I said we needed.
Surprised this is how Gerrard wants us to play, with all the speculation about how his youth side played at Liverpool, but pleasantly surprised.
It'll take a bit of time getting used to it and trusting our defence at set pieces and not thinking we'll crumble every time we play HIVs or the tarriers. But I fully support this style of play.
I just hope we spend some more money on our attacking threat.

There are probably very few interviews given by football managers where some issue or other could not be picked out where folks disagree with what is said.  Fair enough.  Each to his own opinion.   Looking at SG's words in the round I take him to be trying to talk up the team, the performance of the team, the hard work they put in as a team and learning to play as a team for the shirt.  I see him recognising there is a long way to go for the team but they are responding to the way he wants them to play and he is instilling the sort of tough resilience that has been missing for far too many seasons.   All he seems to me to be telling us, or reminding us, is what he's already battering home to the players.
I reckon they are in no doubt at all about the sort of performances SG needs each and every one of them to deliver if they are to be winners for Rangers.   Winners know what it takes to produce wins.  SG knows better than most.   Talking up the positives while not shirking away from the aspects that need more work are probably part of instilling a winning mentality.  So I suppose that when players play well in his opinion they'll hear about it and so will we, and the converse will be true too with players dropped quickly if they don't deliver.   Candeias and Windass for instance for the game in Croatia.
The gap between seemingly trying but not winning, and winning when the going is tough is a big one.   SG, it seems to me, is hunting for the players that will make the transition to become Rangers winners.    It may not be a quick process but I sure do hope SG, and the Club, and the Support are rewarded with success for his efforts.

To me this is most important point.
He's saying we won't tolerate players standing with their hands on their hips when we lose the ball, there will be no trotting back to make a can't-really-be-arsed attempt at closing down. If you're on the pitch you work for the team and you'd better look like you want to be there.

Thursday’s clean sheet against Osijek was their third in a row.
Gerrard insisted: “From front to back, we defended like men.
“The Rangers teams I have watched over the years did that, they defended like men. I’m talking about the Richard Goughs of this world, your Barry Fergusons.
“Before the game on Thursday, we had lunch with Sasa Papac — he’s a proper man, too.
“These men went out there and defended the badge, the defended the team.
“When they came to places like this they hated getting beaten.
“That’s the mentality we need if we are going to go places.”
Alfredo Morelos struck what proved to be the winner midway through the first half.
Gers then weathered a second- half storm to secure their first away win in Europe in ten years.
Yet Gerrard is convinced the Rangers team of last year would have crumbled in Croatia.
said: “Let us become a proper Rangers team. I believe that the sides I have watched over the last couple of years would have wilted under that pressure on Thursday.
“We are very pleased with the effort and application because we have been drilling them since day one.
“My staff deserve a lot of credit in terms of helping me get the shape and philosophy over.
“I’m just as interested in what the players do out of possession.
“How organised they are, the runs you have to do, the dirty runs that hurt your legs.
“When you come to places like the other night you’ve got to run for your teammate I’m more interested in that side of the game.
“I’m confident we have got the talent and the ability to create chances and goals.
“We were one of the highest scorers in the league last year.
“For me, the priority was to stiffen us up and turn us into men and let teams feel us.”
With his new-look side still knitting together, he has been delighted with the progress in Europe.
Allan McGregor had another outstanding match in goal with Connor Goldson and Nikola Katic impressing in front of him.
Gerrard said: “I think the word you are looking for is trust.
“I think Allan now has two centre halves in front of him that he trusts — and they trust him.
“Jon Flanagan is in there, another eight out of ten performance. Solid Flanno, that’s what he is.
James Tavernier up against their danger men for most of the game and handled himself really well. We’re building trust.
“You know when someone makes a mistake it’s fine lines.
“Nobody is pointing fingers. We are all in it together.

That’s what you try to build in an environment — trust.”
Gerrard is refusing to get carried away. Gers face Wigan in a friendly tomorrow before hosting Osijek in the return leg of their Europa League qualifier on Thursday.
The Rangers boss said: “We are building. We have only put the foundations in.
“We have a long way to go. There is still a lot of work to do. We are nowhere near finished yet.
What the lads have done – and credit to them – is they have applied themselves to found that base.
“I won European trophies with Liverpool.
“What I know is that you build on that foundation.
“You come to places like this and you are hard to beat. And then you get your rewards.”

Don't understand negativity about last night, that was a great result for us.
On the whole though it's more than justified.

Football forums always breed negativity unfortunately especially for clubs who are expected to win trophies every season and are struggling to do so.
That will never change for us.

If you're a player and SG is your gaffer and he tells you to fucking do something you have two choices, one will make you a great player and one will end your career with us. I have no doubt he is a ruthless wee bastard, he was on the field and he will be in management, that is what we need at this time.
All we need to do for him now is get him that striker in the final third he really wants, that is the final piece for this window to me (I know some want attacking centre midfielder) but we are fine enough there to bodge things for a while.

We need an out and out goal scorer. Someone with genuine natural ability to sniff out and score goals.
And we need him to hit the ground running.

I kind of wouldn't mind the hardest team possible. Sounds mental but we'd have nothing to lose plus the fact you just never know what could happen. What a marker that would be to put down.

    1. Then you're a moonbeam. There's a whole lot more been wrong with Morelos than form since January. But yeah let's devise a system around him.
You cant guarantee nothing about SGs previous unless you were standing beside him daily with Liverpool u18s. Were you?
We drop him, if he really wants it he shows how much and forces himself into the manager's 1st pick. If he can't, won't, or doesn't force himself in then we look to sell.
    2. You don't think he's been petulant or selfis? Utter bollocks and more than moonbeam stuff now. I'll happily debate aspects but if you don't recognise that aspect then you simply don't watch or understand football. Or mannerisms.
    3. He's certainly showing he knows his style but for 7 months now it's not been successful. He runs beside or behind CHs, let's blame the winger for the cross. He runs offside, that's the midfield fault obviously. He misses chances, not his fault it's his teammates for not doing more for him.
    Very good.
    4. I'll send the nurse over to reduce your medication.
    5. Glad we agree on this point my moonbeam, happy clapper friend.
