When you look at tonight's starting line-up, none of the new players are there. Yilmaz, Colak and Davies cost a lot of money. It raises an eyebrow about recruitment when Van Bronckhorst goes to the players that were already at the club, rather than the players that have been brought in.

I'm not a Royalist or a Monarchist or whatever you want to call it, but I have to say that this has made me feel like the UK would be poorer without it. It is intimately tied to the history of these islands - all the good and the bad - and it feels like such an integral part of Britain that it would be like taking off a limb if we did away with it. They hold no power, and that's how it should be, but they're definitely part of the culture and the psyche.
It genuinely feels weird for me to say this because I never thought I'd give a monkey's if it was abolished.
I do think that there needs to be some modernisation and a slimming down of the Royal family though.  A few commentators over the past few days have been saying that that is a goal for the King.

Exactly.
Some seem to be under the impression we can be like the likes of Napoli ,gallantly thrashing the big guns,with more effort. 
The reality is they have spent at least 200 Million in the last 3 years or so and are far from some built on a shoestring side 

Watching it the now, Napoli are absolutely rapid

If were not going to pay the money for a better calibre of player,we need to start giving a lot more game time to the King's , Lowrie's and McCann's etc..and build future teams round these type of players, who have showed albeit in glimpses, that they are good enough to improve the team.

Leon King has looked really assured which is one plus I suppose, albeit if he's filling in at right back he's offering fuck all going forward.
