Craig Beattie aside, what flops have they sold for a decent fee? Sylla? Du Wei? Virgo? Gravesen? Donati? At the end of the day we are getting a reasonable fee for a player who 1) commands a pretty decent wage and 2) most people have wanted to see the back of for over a year now. Just because he had a couple of decent games in Europe a few years ago it doesn't do anything with regards to his current price. Imagine if I said that Carlise should demand a higher fee for Ian Harte because he played in a UEFA Cup semi final and a Champions League semi final. Evander sno went for over £1M, Marshall £1m, Jiri Jarosik went for over £500,000, they got £500k for Zurawski, £3m for kenny miller, 750k for Pearson, they couldnt have done that bad, weve paid off better players to get rid of them. Fat or no. 2 or 3 half-decent games and 1 very good game (werder at home) doesn't mean he's a champions league legend. what about the dozens of terrible games he plays. untill he controls his weight and becomes more consistent he will only be a run of the mill championship player. i for 1 am sick of waiting for him to prove he is a ranger.
