Amac9 2,060
Bougherra would be suited perfectly to La Liga and the way Barcelona play. With Marquez and Milito injury plaugued and struggling for fitness and Chygrynskiy having an absolute nightmare of a debut season Bougherra could well be the man to come in and act as cover for Puyol and Pique. Can't see it happening though. And just slightly off topic one player who would have pissed it in La Liga without breaking sweat... Brahim Hemdani! WaltersGotStyle 160
The very serious 'futbal mercado' is quite clearly a load of shite. I beg to differ.....usually the site in question has a good inside knowledge about what is cooked behind the scene in spanish football.I wouldn't really write it off because of this slight mix up between the Gers and the smeltics! I'd really have to question the credentials of a journalist who can't even get a players current team right.

trueblue79 0
All you need to do is look at how much man u paid for smalling 10 million If thats what big teams are paying for defenders I would expect 15-20 mill for boogie.

Poetry_In_Blue 1,043
Boughy has all the required credentials to play for the biggest clubs out there. This is a fact. I don't know what to think about this last piece of news, but it seems that it's getting momentum amongst international media. The very serious "futbol mercado" a site specialised primarly in spanish football, published an article regarding this matter. As far as i am concerned,i would say there is a definate interest shown towards Bougherra by the Barca. Now,the 64000$ question would be...whether this keen interest will turn into a firm bid at a later stage! Wait and see! http://www.futbolmercado.es/fc-barcelona-m...ticle18704.html Well considering that site claims he plays for Smeltic... I doubt the report is accurate :pierre: Well spotted! But from a spaniard perspective.....there isn't much between the two! It's not a matter of perspective, it is poor and lazy journalism. They have written a story solely (I think) because it is mentioned in another media outlet. And they are too lazy and unprofessional to even get the facts of the story correct.... At times he was outstanding for Rangers, at times he wasn't so good. Won POTY and put in some cracking performances on the bigger games. How many caps does he have for Algeria; 2,3,4... ? Polo 1,433
I really think he'd be able to cut it at Barca. He's a footballing CB, very much in the Barca mould, who would be more than adept at taking the ball of Valdes and building from the back. He's very quick and, as shown against Drogba, he can hold his own against top defenders. In Barcelona terms he'd be a cut-price squad player. Boogie is prone to the odd error when over-doing it and you would expect that would be seriously punished in La Liga - he'd need to be wary of that. But I can't see him being any worse than Chygrynskiy.

WaltersGotStyle 160
Read about that couples of days ago in some algerian newspapers Nothing offical, up to now, it's only rumors, nothing more! btw, the algerian sources mentioned in the article who claimed that barce is interested in boogie are not accurate! if it was, i would be the first to post it here currently, yebda is the one officially wanted by Sevilla , Aresnal, and Rome honestly, boogie and yebda are the ones of the national team of Algeria who deserve to play in barca ! hope they will do well in the world cup so we might see them there Actually raging at that last sentence... why would we want to see him there?? Amy88 0
well, he doesn't have a good reputation in Algeria, coz he refused the call of the algerian federation of football to play for the national team several times and fiinally, when he came, everybody expected he'll add much to the team, ! he played only 3 international games with Algeria. Generally, he was far better with his clubs rather than the national team and that's why ppl in Algeria dont like him coz it appears for them that he didn;t care about the national team as he did with his clubs! Ali Benarbia, of Manchester city is another example of such players while boogie, for example is another story This is my opinionas an Algeria who cares for the national team
