GersDude90 1
Former Portsmouth goalkeeper David James is set to snub the advances of Champions League sides Celtic and Chelsea to move to Bristol City, according to the Scottish Sun.James, 39, is available on a free transfer after the south coast outfit failed to offer him a fresh contract due to its dire financial situation. Celtic were believed to be keen on adding his experience to their set-up, while Chelsea were keen on bringing in top class cover for injured shot-stopper Petr Cech. The pair are believed to be set to be beaten to the World Cup goalkeeper's signature after he began negotiations with the ambitious Championship outfit. New manager Steve Coppell is understood to see him as a pivotal signing to see his charges win promotion to the Premier League and he could ink a 12-month deal.My linkPlenty of talk going on about this. Seen it on SSN so thought I'd have a look about.

Something to do with his contract How on gods earth could Portsmouth afford that kinda cash in their current plight? And I don't see the reason behind this supposed clause, who does it benefit Barr the player himself? *Manticore* 1,893
I hardly follow transfer rumours, but did anybody (apart from timbo) seriously think James was going to join them?
Goianegra 4,686
It's went through. Great signing for a mid-table Championship club, even if he is 40 next month. One player I'm actually glad they didn't get.

Blue Stars Bearette 1
SSN James Pearson: Celtic manager Neil Lennon believes David James’ decision not to uproot his family meant he could not join the club.aye right I can think of a few other reasons

Amac9 2,060
This is karma coming back to bite celtc on the ass. They distance themselves from being British and burn a St George's cross at a pre-season game. Why would any Englishman want to move his family to play for a club like that when they see incidents like this happening?
Muff 245
I was hoping he was going to end up at celtc, he's an absolute bombscare waiting to happen!
