McCoist defended his players. Apart from Diouf, Naismith and Lafferty it appears Weiss was on the receiving end of the lurgans bigots rants as Vlad tried to protect Diouf from an attack by him in the tunnel in the 2-2 draw at Ibrox. This man lennon is a mad dog that needs put down ! :sherlock:

Old Firm bust-up: Rangers blame Celtic boss Neil Lennon's verbal attacks on stars for spat with Ally McCoist

Mar 4 2011 Exclusive by Keith Jackson

THE explosive bust-up between Ally McCoist and Neil Lennon was the culmination of bad blood that had been festering between the Old Firm management teams for a month.

Record Sport can reveal Ibrox boss Walter Smith and right-hand man McCoist were privately seething with Lennon after a half-time rammy in the stormy 2-2 Scottish Cup draw with Celtic on February 6.

We reported back then that Rangers striker El Diouf claimed the Celtic boss had gone for him in the tunnel at Ibrox.

Now we understand another Rangers player, Vladimir Weiss, was also verbally abused during that flashpoint as he tried to usher Diouf towards the dressing room.

Smith and McCoist were told of the remarks and were infuriated that Lennon had turned on their players .

It 's understood Rangers decided not to take the matter further.

But last night Ibrox chief executive Martin Bain backed McCoist and said: "There was increased tension after previous incidents where two of our players were the subject of extreme verbal abuse."

On top of the tunnel furore, Lennon has also been involved in recent on-the-pitch flare-ups with Kyle Lafferty and Steven Naismith .

And McCoist's temper snapped at Parkhead when he watched Lennon rounding on Diouf again.

The Celtic gaffer pulled up the Senegal star after he bumped into Celtic physio Tim Williamson.

McCoist had to be restrained by Smith as Lennon and Diouf traded words on the edge of Celtic's technical area.

And more fury erupted soon after the half-time whistle when Diouf provoked another rammy by mouthing off at Celtic skipper Scott Brown.

Lennon's assistant Johan Mjallby then challenged Diouf in the tunnel before clashing with Kyle Bartley.

We can now reveal a raging McCoist vented his disgust at Lennon's antics as the pair shook hands af ter the final whistle on Wednesday .

Initially the pair seemed to be embracing but as McCoist leaned forward the exchange turned nasty.

It is believed McCoist told Lennon: "Stay away from my players - or else."

An outraged Lennon retorted: "You shouldn't sign ****** like Diof then."

He was then dragged away by Celtic coach Alan Thompson.

Lennon and McCoist were then hauled in to see ref Calum Murray who told them they would be reported to the SFA for aggressive conduct.

Our source said: "After the game Lennon and McCoist buried the hatchet but it's an uneasy peace.

"They were all on fairly good terms a while ago but the relationship is now strained to put it mildly.

"Smith and McCoist believe Lennon has overstepped the mark too many times this season. The row with Diouf was the straw that broke the camel's back."

If it's true that we decided not to take matters further after the incident with Weiss & Diouf, why the fuck not!?

They would be doing everything they can to get us in trouble if it was one of our staff members who verbally abused a player of theirs.

It 's understood Rangers decided not to take the matter further. = THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED

Lennon and McCoist were then hauled in to see ref Calum Murray who told them they would be reported to the SFA for aggressive conduct.= How can Ally get done for aggresive conduct ? Lemmon has acted like he has been all season , with his antics on the sidelines and his comments to the cameras , all he has done is beyond aggresive , I'll bet Ally gets the same treatment as tlb from any disciplinary commitee ffs

Just got told that Lennon called diouf an orange black bastard in the tunnel and called weiss a gypsy! Supposedly rangers have it all on CCTV!

If this is the case then we should be reporting that scumbag to the Police and sending them the evidence as well as reporting it to the SFA.

I'd love to show them up for what they are. If the shoe was on the other foot they'd be loving it.

Fuck them, get it shown. As much damage as possible, this is a Club who HATE everything we stand for and believe in. Not just the fans, but Lennon has bred it into his players, by fuck a bet Hooper already dislikes himself for being English, wonder if he'll sing his National Anthem with pride now? The anti-Rangers bile is steeped all the way through that Club ; Reid, Liewell, Lennon, Thompson all of them.

Let's fucking revel in it that we have one over on them, something that should be shown for everyone to see. Tease the cunts.

Like someone has said, the gloves are off. Time to show some backbone Rangers !

the mhedia are steeped in hatred for our great club and now it is time to stop the nicey niceyy stuff and stand up and be counted.

Imagine the reaction of them all when they HAVE to accept that they are a vile poison in scotland.

Fuck them all, no surrender!

It's an almost surreal situation where the worst possible bampot fan becomes the manager <cr>.

With Coisty being the manager next season I think it's inevitable that he will at some point banjo this chunt ... and what fair minded person could blame him .

So far as us not taking the situation of the extreme remarks any further that is a mistake because lennon has no class and so will only interpret that as weakness on our part and a green light to continue

They won't have microphones on CCTV will they? I'd be amazed if you could read his lips from some crappy two-frames-a-second CCTV footage. If it's true that he said it, that's probably the reason why the club never used the footage as evidence.

  Super Ally

RAGING Rangers No2 Ally McCoist sparked his Old Firm bust-up with Celtic boss Neil Lennon by challenging him to a FIGHT, The Scottish Sun can reveal.

The pair then had to be pulled apart as snarling Lennon lost the plot and squared up to his rival after Wednesday's Scottish Cup clash.

A Hoops insider said: "Words were exchanged and there was a threat thrown out too at one point.

"McCoist is then bel-ieved to have said something along the lines of, 'Any time you fancy it.' "

It's thought the touchline bust-up was sparked when McCoist warned Lennon - involved in a clash with Light Blues striker El Hadji Diouf during the match - to leave his players alone.

A source close to the Gers camp said McCoist is sick of what he views as Lennon, 39, haranguing Ibrox stars in Old Firm games.

The insider said: "Neil Lennon has become involved with clashes with Rangers players four times since he became Celtic manager.

"Kyle Lafferty, Steven Whittaker and Steven Naismith have all had trouble with him and the coaching staff are sick of it - they see that as a line you don't cross. That was the main point of what Ally said to Lennon. He told him, 'Stay away from our players.' The reaction after that took him aback."

Lennon had to be pulled away from McCoist, 48, by Hoops coach Alan Thompson in the scenes beamed from Celtic Park and seen live by millions of Sky Sports viewers.

But the pair made up later as the dust settled on Celtic's 1-0 Scottish Cup fifth-round victory.

Lennon said last night: "In the heat of the moment words were exchanged. It is a passionate game.

"We were able to sit down after the game. As far as we are concerned the matter is closed."

Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell said: "While I understand this will be part of an SFA investigation, I know both Neil and Ally have moved on from this in the correct manner."

His Gers counterpart Martin Bain said McCoist acted "in the defence of our players".

He added: "He met Neil Lennon again after the match and is now satisfied the Celtic manager is fully aware of his views."
