Imagine the team talk...

'Right lads you better beat these manky bastards because I'm a big Rangers fan,we need to do our bit and help them win the league! After 3..Follow Follow.....'

Sit doon Ian.

so it is just pure coincidence is it that in the 2 matches that terry's clubs had the chance to affect the outcome of the league in rangers favour on both occasions his clubs played out of their skins to beat the scum--

yeah right

I always thought Terry was a legend for Rangers for his never say die attitude.

But he really does not seem to have any media savvy at all. He opens his mouth and all sorts of incomprehensible guff comes out.

His heart I do not doubt, his intelligence as a manager and his managerial skills I do.

Not a future Rangers manager for me.

It doesn't matter if he's media savvy or not. You just have to look at what he done at Motherwell and whats he's doing with Inverness just now with no money.

McCoist is media savvy and look whats happening.

Yea nothing to do with the tims bottle's crashing eh :D

They never crumble when it comes to the crunch, like Raith Rovers,Artmedia,Motherwell,Inverness,Ross County,Kilmarnock or recently St Mirren.

Did you forget all the wins we had to do as a team ourselves, Butcher was wanting his own team to win not Rangers.

Not only would it be a slap in the face to a manager who still has not had a full season to be judged, but it would be betraying a legend to offer a job to a traitor. No other Rangers manager has had to play a team under so much scrutiny and adversity. A man like Butcher would have walked away when the administrators were called in.

I wouldn't feel clean watching Rangers playing under a man like Terry Butcher

I. Ally McCoist currently is Managing a Squad that is top of Division 3 by 19 points. There are concerns over:

a) fitness levels,

b) motivation,

c) signings,

d) tactics/ playing style

But these must be mitigated to a degree by the facts that:

a) last years events have been unprecedented in world football. No other Club has had to endure this sustained draw out campaign across media, footballing authorities and even government against it.

b) the current squad was cobbled together at the last minute, and at one point Rangers did not even know if they were going to be playing football this year.

c) attracting players to play at the lowest level of Scottish Football was always going to be expensive and problematic. Are they genuinely joining for the chance to be part of an amazing journey or for the excellent contract packages. Any quality player was always going to have to understand that week in week out they were going to be up against hard hitting part timers, with increased risk of injury, reduced opportunity to play for their National sides, next to no chance in the short to mid term of gaining footballs highest honours, and risking losing value as a player with regards to future footballing employment opportunities. It's a big ask.

Despite all this Rangers this season have only lost 3 games.

So I would argue talk of replacing Ally McCoist currently is premature.

2.) if you do consider him unfit to Manage, what would be the logic behind giving him a place on the board, especially as we already have one ex manager on it. Would we give Durrant a place on it as well?

3. Terry Butcher is very comfortable at Inverness Caledonian Thistle and has already rejected an offer to manage a Championship side. I would imagine he would see the Manager if Rangers Job as a potential poison chalice, given recent events. Of course we could always not dick around, and save time by not even bothering with the managers job and recruiting him directly on to the board.

How can anyone say Ally is not upto the job ? I think promotion this season was the only aim and we have nearly done it .

Judge Ally after next season once the club has settled abit and we can again buy players , i honestly still believe he can become a great Rangers manager just needs time and the young squad are in good hands believe me .

People said that last season. I'm sorry ally just doesn't seem to be a good manager. And I don't think he ever will be. We need a change of the whole management and scouting team. Start a fresh. The product we have on the park just now is terrible and, to me, ally is the reason for this!

Wouldn't be surprised if the Sun added that in themselves and even if he did actually say it, its the result of the brainwashing carried out by the media in the couple of months following our failed CVA.

A Rangers legend who has developed into a fine manager, would take him back in a heartbeat if ever there is a vacany.

For now, however, Coisty has my backing. I haven't agreed with his signing policy, I haven't been filled with confidence by his overall record as manager and style of play, but as far as I am concerned he has had to work under extremely difficult conditions and played a huge part in saving our club from extinction. So he deserves his chance.

very good points mate
