Hutchinson would probably want more than we'd offer too. That's why he walked away from D.U. They wouldn't make him their 3rd highest paid player.

Both have been shunted out on loan on various occasions and failed to make their mark. Hardly Rangers class.

I doubt if any DU player earns anywhere near some of our players, even now

No quotes, no evidence offered just pure speculation. Clearly that's more than enough for the reactionary ragers on here to get themselves all worked up into a frenzy.

Miller was the same to be honest.

He's probably a decent pro but again its a area we have plenty of cover and a player who is coming into the twilight of his career. I think what upsets people isn't the player so much as the fact we have been sold an idea of a mix of youth and experience that's what the CEO said only a few days ago yet we see nothing on the youth side and plenty of the "decent journeymen" who optimize Allys transfer policy since 2011, yes we are not getting the next Ronaldo at 17 but there's good players like Andrew Robertson who could easily have been given a chance and were ignored for the likes of Kevin Kyle or John Daly.

I happen to know Don Cowie, he's a cracking lad and i'd be very surprised if he came to us. Trains very hard and doesn't drink at all. Very good player and has been since a kid.

bastard if only he drank all the time and hardly trained eh.

All these fans complaining about signing players in there early 30's should remember they weren't complaining when Davie weir was signed in mid 30's and was playing every week till age of 39/40 if you keep fit n look after yourself then these guys can play on for at least 3/4 more years lots of player do it

Dado Prso

Davie Weir

Rod Wallace

Alex Rae

Frank de boer

Brahim Hemdani

Daniel Cousin

Jean Claude Darcheville

Pedro Mendes

Carlos Bocanegra

These guys were all 30 and over when Rangers signed them not a bad bunch of OAPs.

Sure some good players there however Cowie or any other player we have\want are nowhere near the standard of most of those guys. Judge every signing on its merits but a pattern of signing older journeymen has become obvious and that's what annoys fans rather than the actual players themselves.

Was making more of a general point rather than one about Cowie, and that was you can be a good player after the age of 30 and anyone a few years older than that does not need a bus pass or Zimmer frame.

Is Cowie even near the level of players I listed? No chance but we are skint and can only sign cheap players.

Top young players cost big bucks that's why we are going for guys like Cowie.

Prso was 29

Hemdani was 27

Rod Wallace was 28

Pedro Mendes was 29

And Cousin wasn't 31 til midway through his first season with us.

Don't let the facts get in the way of your argument though.

Or we could utilize the young players we already have for free. Who would you rather see next season McGregor or Gasparotto, Cowie or Murdoch, Boyd or Gallagher? Experience is fine but we have enough experienced players we need someone to get the support excited like Macleod and McKay did 2 years ago until Lewis had his injury issues and Barrie was dropped and shunted out on loan.

Why Boyd to partner Miller? Why?

Do you think that a 36 y0 Miller and 34 yo Boyd will win us the league back? What 'extra' will they give us?

Would you not get more satisfaction seeing Gallagher or Clarke score 20+ goals after being played alongside Miller. Get their confidence sky high and possibly bring us in some much needed cash if they are sold to the championship??

What satisfaction will you get out of watching Boyd run down his contract well into his 30's as his performance levels drop along with his goals?

Miller, Clarke, Gallagher and Daly are MORE than enough for the championship. The MF is overloaded as well.

We need a new RB and CH, that is all. Everyone else should come from within the club.

Err Boyd is 'only' 30

We're comparing signing world class talents like Pedro and the de boer brothers to 35 year old Kenny Miller now? Fucking hell

Mendes was 29 but turned 30 a few months after signing split hairs if you want to.

Hemdani was 27 yep

Yes Cousin was 31 midway through the season that makes him 30 when signed.

Prso was born in 74 so was 30 when he signed in 2004.

Your "24 year-olds" won't want to come to Ibrox. Look at the fucking state of us; we're a mess.

Don Cowie would, like Kenny Miller, improve our current squad. That has to be our priority.

Until we reestablish ourselves in the top flight, find our feet and return to the European stage, we won't be able to attract top calibre.

Some people need a reality check.

Who's comparing Miller to the De boers?

Please copy and paste that remark.

Only made the point that just because a player is over 30 it does not make him pish.
