ArchibaldLeitch 380
As for gb, through his charity work he has shown he can cut through red tape and pressurise people into doing what's right even when they don't want too!He has shown he will not shirk responsibility and has a natural ability to put other peoples needs before his own when the need arises. Will garnering trust from people and concessions from people he meets. We need 5 people mind who together cover all the attributes needed, from nice to mean, a listener to a bullshit detector, from polite to bullish.Someone whos efforts will be unappreciated by some and undermined by others. Its a thankless task that will put their lives under public scrutiny and will require an extremely thick skin. They need to remain unbiased and represent the support as a whole and not those who are seeking financial gain or fame. NamibianBear 1,851
as I said if he thinks he can stand his corner and fight for what the fans want he gets my vote too.He definitely has the other attributes you mentioned. Have never met the guy but if he says he can also stand toe to toe with the boards calibre of businessman and change their opinion or plans when its necessary then he's the man.Whoever it is will need to have fight in them and accept no half answers or non replies.I agree with you on this however, the aforementioned person would also need to be able to deal with the other fans groups too. It is supposed to be a two way street. Not just someone to scream at the board. Maybe this will unite us? Hopefully anyway!
surfsup2 1,540
I know Holly and happy to see her on the fans board a positive move as she will be wanting to improve things. She goes to all the home and away games and a lot of Charity nights . Ibroxholm 2,280
Would need to be somebody with experience of dealing at board level and can cut through the shit while able to put their own opinion aside for the majority view of the fans they will represent. No point having a nice guy who gets no answers and just nods his head.If D'art thinks he has the strength to stand his ground I would back him.Not sure of govan blues background but he certainly epitomises the the attributes a rangers fans should exhibit. The fans board reps would hopefully have a broad range of experience and qualities. Yes, we need representatives who have strong independent views and are robust enough in character to argue their case and speak their mind. You can have these qualities and still be 'nice' and show respect for others views. We don't need hotheads, we need reps who are willing to work with the club for the common good and argue their case reasonably and respectably if they think the club is wrong in particular issues. Carsons Dog 9,878
Plenty good candidates on here and I would back any of them against blazer chasers who do not speak for me and only seek to boost their own standing.I've put your name down

gmcf 34,312
I think this is a great move by the club.As a forum/fans group we shoudl also be looking at this as an opportunity to push someone forward who can, for once, genuine speak on ehalf of a large number of the support. If we don't do it then it is likely that SOS, RST, etc will look to back their own "horse" to be onthis board.I'd be keen to see the admin on here look at pullign maybe 5 or 6 possibles candidated form here and for RM to promote the support of these individuals so that as a forum we can have a mouthpiece for the views of the support - rather than us having to tolerate Houston, etc purport to speak on our behalf. There are a lot of good bears on here and I think we need to use this as an opportunity to get one of our own involved in this process and not make it somethign just for the blazer chasersI did think that , but now I'm not sure if that would be for the best. I think this Supporters Board a great idea , but for it to have any chance of success , I really think it should be independent of any fans groups , including ourselves. As has been mentioned previously , there may well be ' factions ' trying to get themselves represented on it . If that should happen , the divisions that are already in the Rangers support , as a whole , may sink it , even before it starts. Let's just hope that the process for candidates eliminates this scenario and we might be best suited to just get behind a candidate that best shares your views. elephants stoned 2,994
Great move by Rangers and not before time too! I fully support the idea of someone like D'art or Govanblue as a RM representative if that were possible.

JCDBigBear 10,831
Note that those named on the RFC web site are basically the selection committee. They will not be on the final board. I know Mhairi and Rev Stuart MacQ. The "Rev" was on our RSC bus years ago. Had a coffee with him a few months back and we reminisced about old times and games. The candidate applications will be limited to season ticket holders and club members. I expect that candidates will need to submit a CV on why they should be chosen.
