East London Loyal 420
Other then the rats that decided to leave the good ship Rangers, out of the youth is there anyone other than McLeod missed either through moving on or players mismanaged? pcbear 10,924
Dundee United and Brentford are maybe not quite so attractive now, they both might have cemented a regular berth under McCall, but then Walsh and Murdoch would have still been on the fringes, lifes a funny old game eh! Turnberry18 3,204
Not through mismanagement, but because of the upheaval possibly, I think Kyle Hutton's game suffered from not having a stable, consistent, and mature top league/European standard midfield. Their were others that took off, but Kyle stayed, rightly, but I think he would have become a very good player under normal circumstances. A Gallant Pioneer 555
Ross McCormack, Charlie Telfer, Graeme Dorrans. Maybe one or two others but can't really think of anyone we have really really missed. We've always had a good enough team to forget about kids who leave us. Bar the last few years of course! Carsons Army 4,146
Gary McSwegan was a terrific player as a youngster and he was scoring 40 goals a season for the reserves.Due to the quality strikers in the first team he never got to play enough 1st team football at the correct age and he never fully realised his potential. Carsons Army 4,146
Dean Furman.you can add Andrew Shinnie to that too, there was also another Northern lad who played in the same team who had real potential, can't remember his name at the moment. East London Loyal 420
Thread wasn't meant as doom and gloom chaps, if you think so then I'd address the issues with your own psyche. McCall giving Hardie, Crawford and Murdoch chances is a positive. All I was asking is whether anyone is missed or because of poor management players such as McKay failed to meet them early potential. simplythebestest 2,148
John Fleck, Scotland's Wayne Rooney.Second this. The hype was huge around him. He did get a half chance with us but by all accounts his attitude was shocking.

I wouldn't agree with that. McCoist was injured for long periods and Hateley also had frequent suspensions. Walter Smith just didn't rate him. Their finances are pathetic too. They could end up being the next Stockport County...
SwallowsHisOwnSpunk 7,883
I have heard rumors that Sinclair turned down Romelu Lukaku when he was 14 or 15. I don't know if there was any truth to it or not though.
