TMB 14,167
Kiernan and Wilson are absolutely solid at the back. What a difference from last season. Either side of them we have Wallace and Tavernier who can go up and down the park all night. Sit a guy like Eustace in front of them and we wont lose many goals this season. Having said all that, the goalkeeper seemed like a bomb scare last weekend we need to see him tested more.I know many will disagree but I still think we're missing something midfield to front. A quality playmaker perhaps?
Gartsherriederry 81
I don't know what I'm watching then because those two centre backs have a lot of work to do they lose far too many headers and as I said in another thread they need to be more commanding or they will get punished against better opposition
Young Bob 1,360
Allan or a similar type would walk into the team. Halliday dropped for Eustace?
sammy cox 664
Let's give everyone a chance to work together as I'm sure MW will make any changes he feels appropriate as and when needed.

bluenoz 32,412
Our CB's were not tested today. I will take that all year long. Their passing out of the back is refreshing to watch.

Brackley Bluenose 4,482
People need to realise that with the style of play we are now adopting we will inevitably lose goals this season. Playing out from the back and asking players to enjoy possession ANYWHERE on the pitch will naturally lead to mistakes and consequently goals conceded but as long as this quality of football Is served up I honestly couldn't care less
Bluepeter9 5,167
For 30 min last week we looked suspect but to be honest it's far to early to say as we sure as hell were not tested today - St mirren will be a sterner test - but exciting times! Kiernan and Wilson are very commanding in the air, they're strong, composed, great with the ball at their feet too. Kiernan was constantly shouting orders from the back tonight and looked like a future captain. I'm very impressed with these two. Wallace is a better defender than Tavernier but going forward the RB is a real threat. Waghorn is a big powerful player, strong, intelligent, full of running. He's leading the line in a very impressive way.A bit more quality midfield to front is the final piece of the jigsaw for me.

Wilson strolled it and Kiernan got stuck in. Was happy with them today, also thought Wes looked a lot more confident with the ball at his feet compared to the past two games. Bighouse 1,013
Can we hold off until at least September until proclaiming untested players to be "quality". The league table will be the judge.

bluebear24 84
Got a swindon man at work who says the keeper is unreal. Nearly cried when I said we had signed him. Think he might just need time go bed in

I'm far from convinced to be honest. Both centre halfs need to be stronger and attack the ball. Im a little disappointed in Keirnan because physically I thought he would impose himself from the word go but haven't seen this yet. Hopefully Weir will improve them in the coming weeks and months. Smile 26,624
We attacked the whole game no one got up to support rory mchaggis and he was left stranded had to resort to elbows and bad fouls mostly on Halliday.
Tumshie 205
Hopefully the back 4 and the keeper steer clear of injuries and suspensions for the next few months. The more games they play together the better.
toolongawake 1,262
Thought the centre backs looked good today, rarely tested but winning the vast majority in the air, played it it from the back, both look very comfortable on the ball.Did anyone else notice the drills Weir was doing with them during the warm up? I've never seen defensive work like it done during a warm up under any manager at Ibrox. Fantastic to see, I've no doubt that Weir will get the best out of them. Ok then.
