Although I suppose in the end his name makes it worth while if if it has Declan foaming at,the mouth. Forrester, King, McKay etc can play numerous positions. That is the type of players MW wants. Bearsden bear 2,376
I imagine the gaffer thinks that Billy boy can play on either wing and wee bazza or the Wagster could play centrally as and when.

What about Charlie Austin? He is a £15m player and went for a third of that. Kagawa, went to Dortmund after failing at Man Utd for only £8m. If we value a player at say £1m, and we get him for that or less then it is a good deal for Rangers.

As MW says its like buying a house. If theres any doubt about the asking price move on and look at something else.Bit like buying a car in a way.Do you just give the seller the asking price or do you try and negociate a better deal for yourself. Popular Post BlueSuedeSambas 56,413
I think people are a bit premature to be moaning and condemning the board and the lack of investment when the window still has four days to go. l know Warburton has talked about how he likes getting business done early but circumstances change and he's also talked about how one deal going through somewhere else can have a domino effect on several clubs. For all anybody knows Warburton had a midfielder lined up and he might have been out of reach a week ago (we've been linked with Corry Evans in the past couple of days for example) and maybe he is available now and Warburton can only afford either O'Halloran or the other guy. Maybe he's done some wheeling and dealing because signing King on a cheap loan frees up more money in his budget to invest in a position we are weak in. Maybe it doesn't, I don't know but the reality is that neither does anybody else so why not wait and judge how good or bad our business has been after the window shuts rather than moan about it when the window is about to enter its busiest period? TMB 14,167
I've just been reading about this on JKB and there's mixed feelings. Hearts are apparently after another one or two players this window and getting King Billy out frees up a wage. One guy hinted at them going for Osman Sow. There are teams in the CL group stages this year who haven't spent multi-millions on their teams. It's not easy but neither is it impossible. We've spent 10's of millions on our teams in the past and not made it into the CL. MW whole philosophy is about taking exciting, young, hungry, talented players and moulding them. Building a team and work ethic. If this isn't what people want/wanted then they either need to learn quickly or demand a change. Like Smile has said, eventually we are going to have to spend money,to sustain ourselves in Europe and be playing in that group stage regularly we have to splash out on proper quality.
