given that  it says

Section 2 of the Compensation Act 2006 states: “An apology, an offer of treatment or other redress, shall not of itself amount to an admission of negligence or breach of statutory duty.”

it surprising that Celtic simply didn't apologise. They are obviously still trying to deflect

This is from the BBC Scotland web page at the end of the celtic statement, how do celtic think they can change a name in August this year and no one is going to ask the question why so near to the Torbett trial:

celtic Boys Club has been rebranded as St Patrick's Sports Academy, BBC Scotland has learned.

The team's name, logo and green and white hooped shirts were changed in August.

The academy did not respond to a request for a comment about the timing and reason behind the move.

Its teams now play in a different style of green and white strip, featuring a new crest which states the club was established in 2018.

The academy runs its own official social media accounts but the under-18s team still maintains a separate Facebook page.

Earlier posts on the account show that results from last season were listed under "celtic BC", and details in the "about" section still reference celtic Boys Club.

The academy, which is based in Motherwell, North Lanarkshire, has 10 youth teams.

It also runs a Soccer School, aimed at three to five year olds, as well as walking, running and cycling groups.

The boys club no longer has an official presence on social media and its main Facebook and Twitter accounts have been deleted.

Good that they mention this, just adds fuel to the fire which will burn them. Radio Scotland said so regret but no apology and McLaughlin was forced to agree.

This is the sad part of this whole sordid affair, that bastardised football team must of known that fucked up statement would have affected the victims.

They have once again showing their true colours, complete and utter heartless basterds.

They don't care what this does to the victims. They only care about their brand and fake image.

Hope karma is coming for them. They should be hit with every available punishment sporting and legal.

And if our club hasn't already done so in the background, we should be pushing for independent investigation.

What a dreadful half hearted attempt at an apology from the paedophile club and I see that the wee speccy cunt is still reporting on bbc Scotland what happened to him getting shifted?

If the sfa clubs could act against Rangers over the tax bill and EBTs then why are they dragging their feet over the taig's close association with convicted paedophiles?

As I get older I hate them more and more.

bbc ran it as their main story, but it was pretty short and sweet, ultimately saying "this is the issue that wont go away for celtic FOR NOW" as if they expect it all to just evaporate at some time in the future

I wish celtic would fucking evaporate.

Looking at all the evidence that the vanguard bears have been posting with regards to torbett and the others makes you wonder why none of our countries courageous journalists have pulled at these threads before. They are professional (no laughing at the back there) journalists that have a duty to expose these crimes. Are we honestly to believe that not a single one of them, in all this time, hasn't realised the obvious connections these vile men have had within bheast fc? Corrupt to the fucking core and are as guilty as torbett is by keeping quiet.

Also the silence from the sfa/spfl is deafening.

Fair dos to Daly, he's not missing them and hitting the wall!  Their directors are woven right through it.

This bit stood out, his professional club clearly failed him in their duty of care

"Kenny, now 46, joined celtic Boys Club in 1985 as a 13-year-old. A year later, he joined the U-14s, which was managed by Torbett.Kenny was subjected to four years of sexual abuse at the hands of Torbett, which carried on after he signed professionally for celtic FC. Kenny made about 20 appearances for celtic reserves."

needs to be made clear where this abuse happened .if it happened on separate entity fcs grounds or while on duty they have no case to answer .they are involved as well as the boys club .

if it happened at torbetts home or somewhere off premises they will deflect again .

with all the other pending cases they won't be able to keep their noses clean .not even in Sturgeonland

STV knews also had it as lead item .

they accentuated the quote from the judge that the club had no connection to.the boys club .

"WHILE" there was no connection to the club was mentioned .

Needs a national journalist involved to.get this collision exposed throughout the UK .

I know Mark Daly is working on this but a lot could happen between now and any potential broadcast could easily be shelved .Even if it does iv a feeling he won't be doing much work north of Hadrians wall after the broadcast

Clyde is a disgrace. Not a mention. Joke.

They cunts were the front runners on the attack on us. Will never forget they had that cunt Delahunt orchestrating our demise from 2011 onwards. They let everyone and anyone on to have a kick at us. Hopefully they get shut down after their beloved hoops do.

You look at the aftermath of the barry bennell case and the way the FA and media down south handled it and then look at this shithole of a country. Night and fucking day.

Perhaps when Wee Nippy claims Scotland to be a progressive all welcoming all inclusive country that applies to paedos as well going by her and her governments silence and lack of condemnation.
