Think how much money we spend on match days before we make it to ibrox. If they do this right a nice wedge of that will go into the clubs pocket instead of some random pubs in the city. License the guys selling unofficial merch around the ground and let them do it in and around the fan zone. Get a big bar open, in house catering, stuff for kids, mini mega store (just a regular store really), mix with the former players that do the draw at half time.

Could be a nice money spinner and a better day out if done right.

Shit thing is, we never ever lagged behind them. I remember years ago, they always copied everything we did, right down to us bringing out Rangers crisps. Need to get on top of this.

Thet brought out rangers crisps aswell?

Obssesed.

Its nothing to do with the Marshall/Loudens project. Completely different, he mentioned theirs should be announced before the start of the season.

Except if they're selling the drink in the fanzone (that has got nothing to do with them :mutley:).

Another fantastic venture by the club. I think it's a brilliant idea. Tims won't be happy with it, those who moan for the sake of moaning won't be happy with it but any right minded Rangers supporter with a brain will see the club making an effort to engage with fans and make the day out at the football that bit more special. Credit to the club for that. I just hope we do it right and it's not some half hearted attempt.

At the moment this is all just internet rumours & nothing has been confirm by anyone.

It's all just "I heard.." or "I've been told ..".

I hope it's true but ... "Casino" (!!)

It'll no doubt be about 6 quid a pint and some kind of a token system (against your ticket) to make sure you can't have too many. 6 quid for a pint of something shite in a plastic tumbler in the freezing cold weather. Sounds awesome.

On the plus side, before heading in to the stadium to see us grind out a draw with Partick Thistle, we can watch the big screen re-runs of 20 year old games when we had a decent team and actually won stuff.

"Why can't the club be more modern and innovative like German clubs"

"its too cauld to do that here"

Anything that puts money into the club and gets the best players on the pitch deserves a chance, we have to find new ways of making more money.

I've alway said the businesses around Ibrox should be club owned as should the stalls who sell various Rangers gear with all the money going to the club.

Exactly, no some tramp with about 3 teeth selling knock off gear.

Anyone who doesn't see this as a positive needs their head looked at.

Most do. As long as the club rather than a private entity are the beneficiary.

Time will tell.

Good idea hope it takes off and is just the start.

There are loads of marketing and money making opportunities the club is missing out on.

Such as the stadium tours you don't even get any extra on school holidays. Should be advertised everywhere that they are on.

Ibrox should be a place everyone can experience every day of the week not just match days.

I would start with a tour everyday of the week and a cafe at the ground. I know there's the restaurant but there should be a wee type sports bar that's opened 7 days a week get fans and tourists to the stadium.

Bang on mate

I really like the idea

Most folk are in and out of the Ibrox area as quick as they can, they either go to one of their pubs on PRW and walk to Ibrox 10 mins before kick off then leave the area as soon as the games finished. This will encourage people to get there early and stay for a while after the game with the Club making some profit into the bargain

Ive been to a few games in Europe and at many stadiums theirs a sort of carnival atmosphere and its largely due to the fans areas with all the colours and music, its kind of like at sport events in the US but in a good way.

One of the best things about away trips is everyone congregating in one are for a sing song together, a fanzone will create a similar atmosphere, although to be fair they'll probably be strict about the singing.

It will be great fun for kids is well which is something we're missing at the moment, the kids entertainment in the Broomloan is cheap and tacky.

If they built a fan zone similar to the Man City one, then that along with WRC and The Louden will have the whole area around Ibrox busier before games.

My favorite thing about the football is the day out, and this will make going to Ibrox more like a day out, really hope this goes thru.

Ed House CIC, this has been discussed by @thebooler for months, despite denials and deflection looks like he had his finger on the pulse.

Will the 'fan zone' be managed by the louden?

?

Greg's been rewarded for handing RF over to the club led 1872. Might be Roberts turn now? ?

They said it would be announced before the start of last season. Then it was "around November" before it was put back again until after new year.

But EH CIC is only called that because Edmiston House is a famous part of Rangers. ?  ??

I was at a stag in Stuttgart, all the boys were spending a fortune on beers in the stadium.i didnt have the heart to tell them it was alcohol free beer. im guessing rangers fan zone would be a similar idea.

You can definitely get normal beer there as well. Went there last season.
