Agreed. A lot of the mystery and interest has gone since then, with many of the players you only got to see infrequently now often playing under our noses or readily available on tv. Not a great example, as these aren’t superstars, but 3 of the Israel team from Friday play in the SPL. Now we get linked with a signing from a corner of Eastern Europe & half the forum knows the far end of a fart about him already. Add in a national association which doesn’t do a great deal for us, a team largely filled with players from the wrong half of our polarised city, plus 22 years since the team did anything half decent & it’s easy to see why people would drift away.
