So Teirneys had no pre season, been injured for fuck knows how long, still in pain but somehow will be fit to play in a couple of weeks.

Aye OK. About as much chance of that happening as there is him going anywhere other than back to the physios table.

Almost like it's close to the English transfer window closing...

FFS still trying to flog him , shameful , business or not

NEIL Lennon has revealed that Arsenal's interest in celtic left back Kieran Tierney has gone quiet ahead of the close of the English transfer window on Thursday evening.

And the Parkhead manager has expressed hope that Tierney, who has been recovering from a double hernia operation and a pubic issue, could return to training at Lennoxtown next week and be fit to play again in a fortnight.

Lennon, whose side take on CFR Cluj in the third round of Champions League qualifying in Romania tomorrow evening, rubbished claims the defender was set to be sidelined for another two months.

“He’ll be fit in a week or two,” he said. “He still has some abductor pain, but I think the pubic issue is starting to settle and he’s over the double hernia as well.

"I know there is talk of him being out for another eight weeks, but that’s nonsense. I don’t know where that’s come from because that’s certainly not the case at all.

“He’s missed the whole of pre-season, but I’d say he’s more or less a week away from getting back on the grass and getting back integrated to the training. You can add maybe another week or ten days on top of that before he’s ready to play."

Arsenal's two bids for Tierney have both been rejected by celtic as they have fallen short of the treble treble winners' £25 million valuation of the 22-year-old.

Lennon admitted he had expected the London club, who splashed out £72 million on Lille winger Nicolas Pepe last week, to return to the negotiating table.

But he refused to rule out the Premier League giants, or another top flight club down south, coming in for the player between now on 5pm on Thursday when the transfer window down south closes.

“It’s all gone a bit quiet at the minute which is surprising for me," he said. "It (the move to Arsenal) may or may not happen now. Listen, I know these deals can get done at a minute to 12 – it could get done on the afternoon or later in the evening.

“I’d be surprised if there wasn’t another offer for Kieran but delighted too. If we keep Kieran then it’s brilliant because we’ll be keeping a top quality player.

"It’ll just be a case of getting him back on the pitch doing what he does best. We’re already doing some great things without him, so when he adds to what we have already got we’ll be even better.”

I stand by what I said weeks ago.  That sicknote will be going nowhere regardless of him constantly being hawked out by the Tims.

Ive actually came to the conclusion that Arsenal have probably never actually submitted a formal bid for him.

It’s so obvious, but I’ve yet to read of anyone in the press actually saying this to the tims and questioning why a club would shell out millions on a player who is not fit, and hasn’t been for a long period of time.

Spot on ,said the same myself like most on here ,when ye hear anything about Arsenals "bids" it's always along the lines of bbc "understands" or sky are "reporting" or stv "hear " from a "source"

Its them fae the east end manipulating these bullshit stories and then coming out with any bids dont meet our "valuation " hes only worth what a team are willing to pay  ,when there's actually a real bid ffs

I’d understand this if it was just DR publishing the story but it’s been one of the main footballing discussions in English press for week.

Not sure why the English press would join in manipulating bullshit stories...

There’s obviously real interest from Arsenal and likely bids have been made, not sure why people are pretending this isn’t the case.

If it doesn’t happen  I hope someone plays that bit back to them.

At the end of this English transfer window, biscuit hips will still be at the Tims and the mhedia will proclaim that it’s a massive success that the scum managed to fend off the mighty Arsenal and convince him to stay on at the piggery.

Any Rangers fan who can’t see this shit coming already must be blind. Even Stevie Wonder can see it coming.

You heard it here first...

The majority has been from the DR or Sky Sports (which has a heavy presence up North) and the Scottish Sun.

Granted, there has been the occasional input by mainstream media in England also, but if Arsenal had really offered a package worth anywhere near the £25M being touted (albeit with conditions attached apparently), for a guy who has barely kicked a ball and is still not training I can't believe it would have been turned down.

I'm pretty confident he will still be there at the close of the English window.
