He is, terrifies SPL dross because they can’t handle how much pressure he puts them under

Gets shown up for being absolute garbage anytime he plays anyone above that calibre

Yes, Maeda a runner and will run all day doesn't seem to fit Rodgers system so that's good.

Even if Tav isn’t having his best game offensively, he creates space for the rest of the team. Other teams know he is basically our biggest attacking threat.

When we take him out and replace him with e.g. Sterling we become so easy to defend against.

If we want a full back who defends and doesn’t attack then we really need to find a better way to create space in attack

How about the attackers create their own space by using width etc, and also sometimes tav going forward forcing our tens inside actually sucks up the space for our players in the middle to operate,

That would be good if they did. But would require Beale to enact a totally different play style. We haven’t exactly gone out and signed a bunch of wide attackers so we are going to be reliant on Tav and Barasic to provide width this season.

So with that in mind and Tav’s slowing down. I think the question is how do we adapt to that

I agree, however tavs frailties and the teams weaknesses come from Beale either not smart enough to know how to change it, or too stubborn to change it,

You say other teams know he's our biggest threat, yet they dont double up or anything, teams pack the middle knowing tav and borna havent got the ability now to run the flanks all game, they simply let us throw hopeless balls into the packed central belt, ffs teams figured that out before we won the league, and yeah we had a great season for 55, but it was clearly a one off as the rest of the time with this system has shown

They can't have figured it out thatt well. 39 goals and 55 assists in the league alone from Borna and Tav since the start of the season we won 55.

21 penalties, 8 freekicks.

So that's still 39 goals and 55 assists from the players 'teams figured out' before we won 55.

So 10 goals and alot less than 55 assists in open play? Over 3 seasons? Much less than 10 each per season in a team that basically has had them as our main creative output over them 3 seasons, especiallyin that 55 season? Then you have people posting about how Borna was our top assist last season but failed to mention it was only 8 assists.

Tav has not been out of the top 5 for assists in the whole league over the last 3 years.

The year before last, he had more assists than anyone else in the league.

Takes all the set pieces. How many assists from open play?

Year before last is 2 years ago when he could still move.

Do goals count less if scored from a free kick or penalty?

Same with assists, Do they count less if from a dead-ball?

I’d be surprised if you can find two fullbacks anywhere with similar numbers over the same period

Perhaps it's time to let someone else have a go at set pieces...changeling a bit !

Aren't we discussing his contributions from open play?

I'd be surprised if any other big teams in Europe rely on their fullbacks the way we do.

How effective though? What's his success rate considering he takes them all? Higher % than a James Ward-Prowse or De Bruyne?

Effective enough that between him and Barisic they’ve scored 39 times and contributed 55 assists since teams ‘figured them out’.
