Six years at the club, especially in that position, and the majority injury-free is a decent accomplishment that the club recognises.

No qualms with that, but RM sure does love to hate.

That doesn't mean it's not time to sell. It is.

6 years of nearly constant underachieving.

John Greig came up against the best side in their history, at a time when other teams in the league were competitive, prior to which he’d won a double and a treble (I think)

There is zero comparison here

Goldson has played in times when the financial gulf is bigger than at any other time in our history between the two clubs.

I watched Grieg play. Goldson is nowhere near as good, but the comparison is relevant to the teams Grieg played in.

Before some cunt gives me a mention that's completely deserved. Pivotal to the 3 points today. The reaction save from close range was unbelievable.

You've no been giving it tight to Butland, have you?

In what way? Genuinely? Give me 10 moments from his 6 years and 300 odd games where you watched a game and thought aye Connor Goldson really dug us out a hole there. He really led the team to a vital win. He’s a huge part of the diminished mentality of this club. Happy to compete for trophies, not win them

You got 10 from Clint Hill and Ryan Jack aye?

Take yourself back to all the excitement about the attacking players we were going to sign in the summer, and the new players coming in.  Then imagine someone told you then the goalie we got on a free transfer would take PoY and PPoY and our top scorer would be Tav.

Fair play and well done to Butland that but kinda sums up our season/recruitment.

Butland is the correct decision.

It'll be sad to see him (likely) away him the summer, but we'll need to sell to fund another rebuild. We'll be struggling to get someone of his quality to replace him.

The concern is team will know we need the cash and low ball us.

It'll be fine, we always manage to find good goalies. Shite that it can't be the same with other positions mind you.

Sell Ridvan for decent money and Goldson & Tav for silly Saudi money before letting Butland leave. Our good fortune with goalies will run out one day. Keep him.
