Why muscat? What's he done to deserve it?

He's managed to win titles in Australia, Japan and currently on track to win title in China.

We can rip the pish out of the standards of these league but postecoglou came from similar background and look how he did here.

He's meant to play a similar style as well to postecoglou. Very attack minded and high energy. A style we've also seen work in this league.

Is it risk free of course not. But I think it's a risk worth taking.

I'll be honest I just hope to see the back of him.

The board deserve huge criticism though for the crazy decision to give him a new deal

The shit thing is he's too stubborn to listen to outside noise, or change his philosophy, or story as he calls it.

I'm done with him and I hate saying that. His style of football is utter pish and he won't change it.

It was a risk worth taking. Rip the cunt out of the shite teams in our league which helps with Europe.

Clement shows too much respect to the pish in our league, whether intentionallyor not. He has no clue how to set a team out.

Postecoglu was given fucking multi millions and a good 6 months to build his high energy attack minded team,

Up until he got hatate and maeda in the jan window they were struggling big time

Wether clement stays or not or turns it around or not who knows, but saying muscat should come in and like flicking a switch he'll suddenly turn us into a fast paced attacking team is mental

Had we had more money in the summer and other players moved on, and been better injury wise we'd have a much much better front 4, we have two mids in barron and diomande who want to move the ball quicker, just a pity our backline is still nor the best

Only money will fix it

Clement spent around 16m this summer, fatty spent about 19m in his first summer. I know you have a real habit of exaggerating things and making situations seem totally different but lets not act like fatty spent far more money than the likes of Clement and Beale in their first summers.

Winning 12/14 league games from October, drawing the two others due to missing numerous chances and winning the league cup is so far from 'struggling' lets be honest.

Diomande is pish, you and a select few others need to stop making excuses for him.

We've spent over 30m in the last three transfer windows and are in a position similar to pre Gerrard.

Our position is not based on lack of investment, it's due to shit signings and two managers who haven't a clue.

They dropped 11pts in their first 7 games, their 12 wins from october onwards to winter shutdown, 5 of them were by a single goal

We've dropped 5pts from our first 6 league games and still in the league Cup,

So by spending less than fatty, having less saleable assets to fund the rebuild as well, clement has started his clear out season better than fatty did

Fuck sake we aren't doing well the now and a CL level team in lyon skelped us (they skelped us under gerrard who had an invincible winning title team as well) but the overreaction at times is mental

We have spent 30mill in the last 3 windows, beale spent half of that, ao far both clement and fatty have spent the same and we have started our rebuild season better than they did, if come jan we are still playing honking then aye its a massive problem

Wait you're not actually sticking up for our start to the season? Surely not?

Lyon have not been in the CL for the last 5 seasons and likely won't be in it next year either.

Gerrard and Gios sides would have beaten Lyon on Thursday.

They didn't skelp us in the 0-2 game either, they only had 2 shots on target.

Nope our start has been poor, but so was fattys when he rebuilt the tarriers

Gerrard didnt lay a glove on lyon that season either, absolutely no chance his team were beating Thursday nights lyon mob

So whats the idea then? Sack another manager 3 months and one proper window into a rebuild, then once we've paid him off (and his team) bring another new manager in, tell him he has fuck all to spend cause ae paid off clement and his crew and probably has a full team that either he wont want or they wont want to be here anymore

Imagine the tarriers sacked fatty after 6 league games (where they lost 3) going out the CL to midtjylland, made it to the EL groups but lost their first 2 games including a 4-0 scudding at home lff leverkusen

The difference is you knew what he wanted out his team from his first training session, and it became really effective.

Absolutely no idea what PC wants, and it’s becoming less effective the longer he’s here.

That fat cunts rebuild looked like it was going somewhere.

Ours? We are a shambles and concede he sams.goal and chance almost every game

If Clement had arrived this summer he correctly would have more time to implement something.

He's been here nearly a year and we've regressed. There's no identity, his subs are atrocious.

He's not the answer, it's not even a discussion anymore as far as I'm concerned.

I agree, the overreaction to losing to a quality team like Lyon has been toxic. The financial gulf is massive, But with that said, Clement must recognize it and adapt accordingly. He didn't. We were exposed all over the park. I'm not sure if he is unwilling or unable to change formations, but he got it terribly wrong.

He is not a good manager if he can't adapt to certain teams.

Clement has been here for a over a year now. Different story if he just arrived in the summer and was still finding his feet but he isn't.

I don't think muscat would just walk in the door and suddenly transform our side into a fast paced attacking team. It would take time but at least it would be clear what we where working towards.

A year on we're all still debating what Clement is actually trying to do.

Only money won't fix this. Not without good coaching and instruction.

I don't actually expect a change tbh. Clement will be here for more time but I'm seeing a lot of the same red flags that ended up getting Gio and Beale sacked in the end.

If we appointed Muscat and found ourselves in a similar position to where we are now, which isn't unrealistic, the fan base would be going tonto at the board for not appointing a manager who had won titles in Europe.

I don't think Muscat is the answer either, comparing him with Postecoglou simply because he worked under him or has a simple playing style is car crash material, first and foremost we have to gain our identity back, we lack leaders all over the park, we lack our Scottish identity, jersey is far too heavy for too many who don't understand what it means to pull it on. Unfortunately we've built a rod for our own back turning our nose up at all things Scottish.
