It's a pity they didn't reach out to us before he passed away, we are a very generous support and I'm sure we could have mustered up a wee something for them or even the family to ease the pain slightly .

Surprised the Scottish press never picked that up sooner tbh, every negative story they seem to find a pic of the person on a football top.

I've children and they make one think about whats going on both here in the UK and in the wider world. Doesn't change my thoughts that we're far better off clean breaking from the EU that is just now project left wing spouting John Lennon pish and would put foreigners afore our own kind which is completely abhorrent to me and they can fuck right off as is the case with most people of common sense and right minded thinking.

Europe (EU) when in control of the right minded has great potential, however,  until reformed is a bastard place best refrained from until the leftist atheists are dethroned making way for the good people who believe in freedom and open markets protected from the communists, fenians and muslims who seek to overturn us good people.

Half pished but truth as always.

Mon Rangers!!!

Jermain Defoe will be realising Bradley Lowery’s dream when he signs for Rangers.

The tragic schoolboy’s mum Gemma Lowery has told how her son was a Light Blues fanatic and would be excited by his hero joining the club.

Bradley was just six when he died of neuroblastoma, a rare form of cancer. His bond with Defoe during his battle with the illness touched the hearts of the nation.

The schoolboy was known as a Sunderland supporter – but his mum revealed he followed in the footsteps of his dad Carl and grandad Dave and was also a huge Rangers fan.

Gemma, 35, said: “It’s as if it was meant to be.

“It’s yet another way Jermain is honouring Bradley’s memory.

“Bradley would be extremely happy and delighted to know his hero has signed for the Gers, as they were his next favourite team after his beloved Sunderland.

“His dad and grandad are both big Rangers fans and Bradley loved them too – he had a Rangers fleecy blanket his grandad gave him which he would take everywhere with him.

“It’s just so strange that Jermain has ended up there.”

Defoe, 36, grew close to Bradley while he played for Sunderland, after meeting the little lad when he was a club mascot. He is still to be officially announced as a Rangers player after agreeing an 18-month loan deal from Premier League side Bournemouth.

However, the England striker is expected to join the first team at their training camp in Tenerife during the winter break.

Gemma told how the family had been organising a trip north of the Border to watch a Rangers game just 24 hours before it was announced Defoe was also on his way.

She added: “We’d been chatting about coming up to Scotland to see a Rangers game as a family and the next day the news broke that Jermain was going there on loan – you couldn’t make it up.

“I texted him and asked if it was for real. He said it was and asked if we all fancy coming up to see him play.

“We definitely will be coming up.”

Gemma, of Blackhall Colliery in County Durham, added: “After Jermain moved from Sunderland to Bournemouth, we would go down to watch him there and stop at his house. But Glasgow is even handier.

“Rangers are so lucky to be getting Jermain as not only is he a good footballer, he is a good person.”

Gemma, who runs the Bradley Lowery Foundation which helps other children battling terminal illnesses, said: “Jermain and Bradley’s friendship was a very special one.

“The bond between them was incredible and our family’s friendship with him has continued.

“Their friendship was very natural, there was an instant connection and there are really no words to describe it.

“A lot of their friendship was not played out in the media but behind closed doors.

“It’s so lovely that our little boy put things into perspective for so many different people.

“Jermain continues to support the foundation and now other high-profile people are following in his footsteps and raising awareness of childhood cancer.

“Bradley has left a fantastic legacy.”
