Best hope the home game doesn't succumb to closed doors. Would be a massive loss of income. Unlikely at this stage but you never know.

I doubt it very much especially after the UK Govt statement yesterday.

Tbh if a game is scheduled for behind closed doors they'd be better cancelling it and the competition as things stand.

We'd be trying to deter fans going to a high risk zone, but would send players / staff to that same zone, staying over in hotels, using facilities, and hoping none come into contact with a virus carrier.

Exactly the risk is still there for travelling fans from airport to public transport to pubs and restaurants to hotels.

Uefa are also leaving all decisions to the local governments which is an easy option for them and it’s travel bans like Italy is the only way to stop fans travelling and the risk to them.

I can actually see this happening, in the next 2-3 weeks I'd imagine games will have to be played behind closed doors then all it really takes is one player to get it for the league to be cancelled.

It would have to be made null and void as to just declare the league would probably result in legal battles with the financial implications at play for teams at the bottom and the top.

What a fucking massive kick in the balls that would be for Liverpool.

What's the deal with the UEFA pitch inspection?

They have told Leverkusen they aren’t allowed to train on the pitch 24 hours before hand because it’s a disgrace so Leverkusen will have to train at home and either fly in that night or on the day of the game. Good advantage for us.

"The SPFL and Scottish FA are continuing to work together in the face of the coronavirus threat.

"The Joint Response Group, including the Scottish FA's chief medical consultant Dr John MacLean, is meeting on a daily basis to consider briefings from the World Health Organisation and to respond to the developing situation across the UK.

"We are aware of the decisions being taken elsewhere in Europe to cancel sporting events and/or hold them behind closed doors.

"However, the Department of Culture, Media and Sport announced yesterday that, as things stand, there is 'no rationale' for closing or cancelling sporting events in Britain because of coronavirus. This has been echoed in conversations that we have had with the Scottish Government.

"While it is a fast-changing picture and we will continue to be guided by the most up-to-date, expert advice, we are continuing to prepare for matches to proceed as scheduled.

"Member clubs are urged to review the terms of any business interruption insurance they may hold, in the event that future matches may be cancelled or have to be held behind closed doors."

The thing with this is plans are changing on a daily basis. The game on thursday will most likely not be played behind closed doors but the return leg will probably be. Expect things to change dramatically within the space of a week. Possibly leagues all over Europe declared null n void, the Euros delayed till next summer and next season delayed until further notice.

The government is putting economics before public safety, but that will change.

Only one footballer catches it from a high profile team and the game's a bogey.

I think the Italian league has already been cancelled.

Postponed til next month. 6 nations rugby postponed til october. Increasing no of games being played being closed doors in European comps, and euro domestic leagues. Nottingham forest owner confirmed as positive and has been at domestic games plus watching arsenal in Europe.

Leagues will be postponed across europe within weeks, and if the outbreak doesnt significantly reduce wont be resumed leaving decisions to be made on voiding / awarding at that point in time.

Euro 2020 very much at risk too imo.

SFA briefed journalists last week that UEFA are fairly sure the Euro’s wont go ahead this summer. Either a 3 month delay or next summer are the two options they’re exploring
