Knocking it about at the back will fuck us against a high pressing team because we’ll panic or make a mistake. The tims will absolutely do that. 
 
I see very little point in every defender touching the ball before either Goldson lobs it or Tav has had enough. 
as you said the opposition therefore have the time to get their shape back.  It’s a stupid tactic. I’d like to see our midfield take the ball more and work it forward, however playing it wide to Borna inevitably means it’s passed back.  

Don’t know if you’ve noticed his new tactic he’s now fireing balls in from ten yards over the half way line. Doing this means Kent doesn’t see the ball and Borna doesn’t need to beat anyone. 

 

Wish fans would stop going on about europe last season. We've got a weaker starting 11, playing noticeably a different style and it's a new season. 

We are far weaker in personnel than last season in various positions.

Yesterday was an exceptional circumstance but certainly we are susceptible late in games because cannot consistently kill off games.
We either try to keep possession close to our goal rather than in the opponents half or just sit deep, stop pressing and hope that the chances we gift are not converted. Sometimes we just lose all discipline and just have everyone attacking, lose the ball or give away a free kick and let the opposition break away.
Generally I dread the last minutes of each half because I do not trust our defensive players to keep concentration and nerve.

Today was grim, and another poor performance lacking any energy or zip or more worryingly determination. It was full of lazy slow passing,  poor movement, holding on to ball too long, going back when there was no need, no leadership shown. A reluctance  to shoot when chance is there.(3 that I can remember). No one berating teammates to do better. And let’s be honest Hibs we’re pish poor and there for the taking today.  Lundstrum red was shocking and I’m sure it will be overturned. Alfie’s was just plain stupid. But that result and performance was all on management and players.
Practically every game this season has been laboured with occasional good patches, it just doesn’t  instil any confidence at all for games ahead. Worst still I expected to drop points after about first 5 mins. You can totally tell whether we are at it or not. 
Relying on Hope now for Mid week rather than belief.

The ref last night was one of the best, if not the best. We’re not talking about some SPFL jobber here. Sure he knows the rules. 

He never even looked great for Aberdeen 

One other criticism i'd give us tonight is being a bit naive with trying to play out from the back in the second half when they were getting their press spot on, wouldn't have hurt for 10/15 to go a bit longer and win first/second balls and play a bit in their half.

Souttar was a scandalous signing , everybody in the game knew it was and the fact that he was never good enough. This one signing should have cost Wilson his job if hes the clown behind it.

At least we now know from the Ross County game yesterday that players scoring and running into the crowd to celebrate is no longer a yellow card.

Souness tried to keep him on track, even took him in to his home for a time to try to live like a professional sportsman but Ferguson did not have the self discipline to stay the course, a wasted talent who could have achieved so much more.

Have to disagree, most teams set up to block keepers so in the modern game most top keepers stay much like the fact that keepers punch rather than catch nowadays. There are a very few exceptions but they tend to be 6 foot 7 or thereabouts.

I have never rated McLaughlin as a first choice keeper and sadly age has caught up with McGregor so if McCrorie is not rated better than McLaughlin we should have prioritised a new number 1

They had plenty time to deal with this , now its a major problem.

Not at all surprised at this result; we are much weaker than last season. Bassey was far superior at CB than Sands, Aribo far superior than new recruits, McGregor far superior than a second string keeper. No Alfredo no Roofe, no Kent means no threat.

See thats the thing, he hasn't performed at this level before, he's played in the spfl but not at the standard we require for a CL place and title winning team

Whats that got to do with comparing his performance away to motherwell 4 years ago to souttars yesterday, 
Souttar gets breathing space the now because of his family issues, surely you'd give katic leeway while on loan given he was coming back from a ruptured ACL
Oh and for the record, i stand by my opinion pre signing of souttar, i genuinely dont think he showed anything good enough at hearts to make me think "he's a centre half to take us to the next level" 
We only need to go back to Aribos goal against him last year to see how badly he gets caught out with a ball over the top
