WWTC got a reaction from BlueAvenger in Raskin
Goes to play passes most players realise arent on, or will be blocked, but plays them anyway. Cant track or tackle. Gets caught out of position almost every time, and im not exaggerating. Ive no idea if he’s a shite sitting midfielder or a shite attacking midfielder.

Any comment from any Manager basically confirming what they have spent is bizarre, even more so when it turns out to be exactly the number you’re denying you spent

This.
I realise few players are excluded from criticism just now, but for me Raskin has been absolutely garbage since the start of the season. Lundstram should feel hard done by being dropped today as he’s probably been our best midfielder recently.

Midfield is the biggest problem for me. Has been for a few seasons now. No creativity. No dynamism. No control of the game. No good link up play. No attacking threat.
If we don’t throw Tav and Barasic forward we offer no attacking threat.
Jack and Lundstrum are Hearts/Hibs level.
We must be incredibly easy to defend against when we have 0 good ball playing midfielders.

We’ve had 9 games this season and I would say the performance has only been above-average in one (Ross County away). They also had the worst home record in the league last year.
Livi, Servette x 2, PSV home and Morton were poor to average. Killie was bad and PSV away and today were horrendous.
If there was any sign the team were gelling or that these was a cohesive plan or identity I’d argue for giving him time.
But the majority of the signings look poor, the performances have regressed from last year, it’s as bad a watch as under Gio and Beale has failed in every truly meaningful game. He also has no record of prior success as a manager to fall back on.
I think the board owe it to the fans to pull the trigger while we still have time to turn things around. The fans have turned on Beale and I just don’t see him being able to turn things around, especially in a toxic atmosphere.
I wish him well but it’s time to move on. We need to look at a coach with proven success who can play the sort of front-foot football that will excite the fans. Fuck knows we pay enough money - we need some entertainment.

I've defended him since his appointment but this could possibly be the game that completely swings it the other way.
You start with them tactics, get to 20 minutes and see its clearly not working. Doesn't change it.
Get to half hour in, still nowhere in the game, still doesn't change it.
Goes with this for another 45 minutes then he ain't the man for the job.

I get the resurgence stuff, but if you had told me Matondo would start the first old firm game of the season i’d have told you to put the spoon away.

It’s also an utter joke how many of the new signings don’t make our strongest 11 (currently at least).

Lundstram is an absolute stick on to start, he’s been one of the better performers in the last 2 games.

The fact we've been able to bring in 9 players, with at least three of them commanding serious transfer fees (for us), seemingly without relying on board members or loans to finance the deals is a really good thing.
The shareholder investments of the previous years was designed to get us to a place like this.
Being able to do this without receiving fees for Morelos and Kent is even better. Obviously it could have been better if Wilson had actually done his job in previous years.
We can all grumble about how this money has been spent and whether we have got it right is another debate, but I don't think we can say we haven't given the guy in charge the ability to undertake an overhaul.

With FFP rules getting more stringent we can’t go breaking the bank, between fees and wages there’s been a decent chunk spent, wisely or not we will find out soon enough

In terms of money spent probably. It wouldn't be taking into account incoming money
Dessers - 3/4 million
Lammers - 3/4 million
Danilo -4/5 million
Cifu and Sima would be smaller fees for and loan fee. Big wages to replace Kent and Morelos spent on Butland, Cifu and Sima.
Money brought in from CL and Kamara was in excess of 10 million alone.
When you look at how much we are spending on guys who won't play like Wright, Davies, Yilmaz, Balogun it's not great.

Have we to hold this line up against a mirror to make sense of it?

Given the reaction to the defeat you’d think we were.

What alot of shite.
edit: after going away and thinking about this, it sort of sums up alot of the mentality issues our fan base seems to have developed recently.
34 games to play and at worst 4 points behind, and the leagues over. Incredible.

Firstly, I think you’ve missed his point. The point was we dont budget for Champions League football.
Secondly, you cant say we’ve over spent based on Europa League football after xmas when it’s September and we’re literally a day out of the draw.
And lastly, if we dont have European football after xmas given the draw we’ve just had, with 3rd place dropping into the conference, then we’re in serious shit.

Ive struggled, but have deliberately avoided putting anything in this thread since Wednesday. Some of the comments and takes are genuinely embarrassing from Rangers fans 5 seconds into a season.
I’m obviously not overly happy with the start to the season but i’m far from calling the manager a prick and asking for him to be sacked. We’ve shown glimpses, albeit small ones, that we are starting to look like a half decent side, getting pumped by a really good side away hasnt changed that for me. PSV are about to sell a winger, who wasnt even one of their top 3 performers over the two legs, for £40M,and have spent £34M on 3 players. Thats the reality of it. They tweeking a settled squad and we’ve spent less than half of that on a “rebuild”. We were never beating them over two legs imo.
Edit: Sangare looks like he’s away for £30M as well.
One thing I do have serious issues with, is the fact we’re going into this season with the same defence, we haven’t strengthened our back line at all, and its very easily exposed.
A win on Sunday followed by a run of victories and a cup win and suddenly Beale’s on track and we’re where we hoped we would be. He wont get away with much less than this in my eyes, but I am willing to give him past August to let him get HIS team on the pitch and in order.
I do understand one mans common sense is another mans happy clapping, but like I said, some of the abuse and comments on here before the first Old Firm of the season are genuinely embarrassing.
