Was told my old man had days to live last Wednesday. Sat by his hospital bed on Thursday evening watching the 1st leg on the iPad and the performance cheered me up no end, although i couldn't cheer for obvious reasons.
He passed away on Saturday and that tonight is EXACTLY what i needed to help raise my spirits. I went absolutely fucking tonto when we scored the 7th.
And we DID score 7 v Borrusia Dortmond regardless of what the records will say. Fucking SEVEN goals v one of the best teams in Germany!!!
    Fucking outstanding to a man.

It looks like he’s leaving and I think I speak for everyone when I say it’s been an absolute pleasure having a model professional like Jermain Defoe as our number 9.
He’s ‘got it’ since he walked through the door and he did what he set out to do by bringing the league trophy home to its rightful place. He’s been an objectively brilliant signing for us and scored many important goals for the club - including a landmark goal against the scum.
He’s one of my favourite Rangers players of the modern era who we got to enjoy in the twilight of his outstanding career.
Wish him all the very best & he’ll always be welcome back to Ibrox. He leaves with his head held high as a good Rangers man.

A very long time since I started a post folks but really think this deserves one, not sure how to post the YouTube link but he has released an update today to say he is taking an extended break or finishing the channel all together as he is going through some issues at the moment.
He has been one of the unsung hero's of the "fan media" movement for me and all without wanting the acclaim, he has been there through it all with us in our rise back to the top and I personally love his content and his cheesey patter will be badly missed.
If your looking in lad hope your feeling better soon and back to what you do best.

jimfaeglesga reacted to The Moonlighter in James ‘’Tuck’’ McIntyre Rangers FC 1880-1891. Family Visit From Texas.
A couple of weeks ago we were contacted by the family of James ‘’Tuck’’ McIntyre, his great niece said that she’d been researching her family tree which took her on to our website thefounderstrail.co.uk
On Sunday we had the pleasure of meeting, all the way from Texas, Sandra Tucker and her friend Susan. It was a joy to take them on a tour of many places relating to James’s time at Rangers including our magnificent Ibrox Stadium. They then paid their  respects at his final resting place at Craigton Cemetery.
    The James McIntyre story.
James played for Alexandria Athletic for three years before joining Rangers in 1880.He played for Rangers for 11 years and was Club captain for a spell.
He represented Glasgow against Sheffield, London, Lancashire, Edinburgh and Birmingham and was capped for Scotland against Wales in 1884.He was Convenor of the Rangers ground and was also on selection committee’s.
James  was one of the few people to be awarded life membership of the Rangers.
In the 1890’s James McIntyre was the owner of what was Tuck’s which became Fergies, NN10 and  today the Three Cheers pub at Paisley  Road Toll which he sadly lost due to ‘’cash flow problems’’. ‘’ Well if he wasn’t so keen on giving the Rangers supporters so much whiskey on tick then it could’ve stayed in the family hands ‘’ said his Grand Daughter Vivien.
In his later years James lived at 407 Paisley Road, a stone’s throw from Ibrox Stadium .Due to his contribution to the Club over many years a supporter offered to buy James and his family a retirement house in Largs which James turned down as he said it would take him too far away from the Rangers.Vivien said ‘’ He would often sit at the window of the flat on Paisley Road and the supporters on their way to Ibrox would shout and wave up to him which brought him great comfort’’.
She also informed us that the name ‘’ Tuck’’ came about because of his portly figure.
It isn’t everyone who can say that a family relative met Buffalo Bill!
It was in 1891 that Bill Cody brought his famous Wild West show to Glasgow. James McIntrye met with him and asked that he bring his show to Ibrox, sadly that never transpired but James brought Buffalo Bill to Ibrox to watch the Rangers play Queens Park.
James  sadly passed on 17th March 1943.
James  McIntyre played a huge role in the early years of our Club and won’t ever be forgotten.

Love Richard keys getting tore into Gerrard.
“Welcome back Steven. Although I wish you’d taken a bit more care about the manner in which you accepted the Villa job,” Keys wrote on his blog.
I said this on Twitter last week - and I stand by it. Leaving Rangers like a thief in the night was poor.
“Everybody at Ibrox deserved better - not least the players - who knew little or nothing about your intentions until they saw pictures of you holding up a Villa shirt - and yes - you looked happy!
“The ‘daft questions’ came later this time Why leave like that? Why skulk off after being given your big break by Rangers?
You later issued a statement saying ‘in time - I hope people understand’. Well they won’t. If you’d done things the right way I’m sure they might have done.”

Kris Boyd says Connor Goldson and Borna Barisic’s Rangers standards have plummeted and Morelos should be ’embarrassed’
LOOKS to me like certain players at Rangers have ideas above their station right now.
Individuals who possibly think they’re better than they are.
Name names, Boydy? Okay, I will.
Connor Goldson has yet to sign a new contract with the club after months of negotiations. I’m not privy to those discussions.
But I’d love to know where he thinks he’s going to go if he leaves Rangers.
Is Goldson unhappy with the money he’s being offered compared to the deals some of his team-mates are on?
I have no inside information on it but that would be my guess.
I just see a player who has let his standards drop through the floor since last season. And he’s not the only one.
Borna Barisic didn’t play in the 2-2 draw with Aberdeen at Ibrox the other night. But his performances this season have also fallen off a cliff. After the Old Firm victory over celtic, he was out on the pitch and virtually in tears as he waved to the supporters. Like he was saying goodbye.
Could it be he didn’t get the move he was expecting before the transfer window shut? Again, I’m merely throwing that out there.
I just look at the Rangers defence right now and all I see is uncertainty. There’s also the goalkeeper situation. Allan McGregor one week, Jon McLaughlin the next.
Chopping and changing the goalie isn’t doing anyone any good and Steven Gerrard has to see that.
If he’s got concerns about playing McGregor every week then he should play McLaughlin. I just can’t understand why he’s switching between the two for such a specialised position.
When McGregor sits on the bench we hear he’s being rested. Do me a favour. Goalies don’t need rested.
Then there’s Nathan Patterson — what’s going on there?
The young right-back came into the side for the game against Hibs, he played well and the team won. Yet he’s not been seen since.
Instead James Tavernier has played when his levels have dropped substantially.
He’s obviously the club captain and it’s maybe tougher for Gerrard to leave him out.
But Patterson’s progress is being stunted and that’s not doing him or his market value any good. I just look at Rangers right now and something is off.
They’ve fallen behind in EIGHT games!!! this season which is an incredible stat.
It’s putting so much pressure on the strikers, and at the moment they’re unable to cope with that.
Those supposed goalscorers have to do better, mind. Fair play to Tony Ralston for scoring his third league goal of the season for celtic at Easter Road.
But if I was Alfredo Morelos right now I’d be embarrassed. In fact, if I was ANY of the Rangers forwards I’d feel like that, given their lack of goals. Morelos is one strike better off having hit his fourth goal of the campaign against Aberdeen at Ibrox. I’m sorry, for a Rangers No 9 that’s just not good enough. To be around the same tally as the celtic right-back after the first quarter of the season should have Morelos shame-faced. Does he care, though? Is he even bothered? I don’t like asking that but the way he’s playing right now I would have to say I’m not so sure he is.
There are Rangers fans who can’t see past Morelos. Supporters who think ‘Alfie’ or ‘Buff’ can do no wrong. But he’s miles off it. He’s stopped doing everything that was good about his game last season. He’s not the nuisance he was previously and isn’t even getting annoyed. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good thing he’s not getting yellow cards in every game and being undisciplined. But as things stand he’s bringing next to nothing to the team. Certainly nowhere near enough.
And here’s a question I’d like someone to answer — what has happened to Jermain Defoe? I know he’s become part of the coaching staff but he’s still registered as a player and I can’t fathom why he’s nowhere to be seen. Okay, he’s 39 now. But this is a proven striker who knows where the back of the net is. And while he’s in shape he’s always going to have the ability to sniff out a goal. That’s what’s been missing.
Fashion Sakala isn’t that player. In fact, I don’t see him as a Rangers player at all, frankly. He’s never going to be good enough to score 20-odd goals a season.
Rangers should be concerned right now about the way things are going. Some people are getting carried away by celtic’s recent wins and talking them up no end. I’m not going to jump on that bandwagon. But there is a title race, there absolutely is. Rangers need to get their finger out.
They’ve blown the lead they had at the top of the table and now have Ange Postecoglou’s side breathing down their necks. They’ve got a tough run of fixtures coming up between now and the festive period and they just need to get back to basics. They need to remember what really won them the title last season. It’s not like Gerrard has ripped everything up and changed things. As I say, he’s got questions to answer — as Rangers manager he has to take his share of the responsibility. But for me, he’s never tried to shy away from that. No, this is on the players. They’re the ones who got all the praise going last season. And they’re the ones who have to prove that it wasn’t a one-off.

Luther at the Imperial Diet of Worms (1521)
    Background
Luther, who through the church's excommunication was practically declared a heretic, was invited to Worms by the Emperor who had been pressured by a few princes. Both the church and Emperor wanted Luther to recant his teachings while he was there. The princes who supported Luther hoped that through the forthcoming events the political power of Rome over Germany would be weakened.
Luther's powerful sovereign, Elector Friedrich the Wise of Saxon demanded that Luther not be outlawed and imprisoned without a hearing.
    The Trip to Worms
Luther began his trip to Worms on April 2, 1521. The journey to the Imperial Diet did not embody the repentance the church had hoped for. The journey to Worms was more like a victory march; Luther was welcomed enthusiastically in all of the towns he went through.
He preached in Erfurt, Gotha and Eisenach. He arrived in Worms on April 16 and was also cheered and welcomed by the people.
Luther's Appearance at the Imperial Diet
Luther's appearance at the Imperial Diet was described as objective, clever and well thought out. He had to appear before the Emperor twice; each time he was clearly told to take back his teachings. Luther didn't see any proof against his theses or views which would move him to recant: "Unless I am convinced by Scripture and plain reason - I do not accept the authority of the popes and councils, for they have contradicted each other - my conscience is captive to the Word of God. I cannot and I will not recant anything for to go against conscience is neither right nor safe. God help me. Amen."
The infamous saying "Here I stand. I cannot do otherwise." does not come from Luther.

    I am Finished!
After he left the negotiations room, he said "I am finished." And he was for the time finished; Luther was dismissed, and not arrested because he had a letter of safe conduct (Schutzbrief) which guaranteed him 21 days of safe travel through the land. He headed home on April 25.
When Luther and the princes who supported him left Worms, the emperor imposed an Imperial Act (Wormser Edikt): Luther is declared an outlaw (he may be killed by anyone without threat of punishment).
On the trip home, Elector Friedrich the Wise allowed Luther to be kidnapped on May 4 (Luther knew about it beforehand). This took place on the one hand to guarantee Luther's safety and on the other hand to let him disappear from the scene for a short while; there were even rumors of Luther's death. This action also helped the Elector not to endanger himself because he could have been held liable for protecting an outlaw and heretic.
Luther was taken to the secluded Wartburg and the Reformation had time to stabilize and strengthen itself.
