I think we have to accept covid played quite a pivotal role in winning 55 to be fair, without the pandemic then 2019-20 finishes with a complete wimper for us and I doubt Gerrard would've even seen out the season, the atmosphere at Ibrox against Hamilton, in a game that fans wanted to celebrate him was pure toxic and it was justified, he'd have walked after Leverkusan, we got lucky with that, and the fact their manager came back from lockdown lthe size of a whale highlighted the lack of professionalism they showed.
We were brilliant in 20/21, taking nothing away from that but the world had to literally shut down for us to get ahead of them and it only lasted a year.
It's not impossible but we need to be near on perfect in our recruitment before we can even think about what they might or might not do.

Typed out a massive reply to this to justify that kinda price tag but deleted it, you're right, it's very optimistic.

No it’ll be the administrators trying to get as much money as possible to cover any potential liabilities.

Shitshow, lose this and we’ve probably lost more money in legal fees and payouts than we made from the entire Castore deal (circa £20million over 5 years I believe). All because Dave King is a fucking idiot who ignores legal advice

This action by Elite is yet another disgraceful situation of our own making.   Shareholders should be given an explanation.  Amateur hour yet again by people on our board.

Aye for me, there is a gap between the clubs, they've just got so many more options all at a first team level than we have, Hatate is their best player IMO, O'Riley came in for him last week, set up the first goal and he already had three assists against us from the first game this season, Abada has punished us at the piggery, he's injured last time out and their wingers are Jota and Maeda, two guys who punished us previously, even the last time we played them there in September, Kyogo went off injured after a minute, they could bring on that big greek prick (be damned if I'm trying to spell his name).

I like to think our strongest XI can match their strongest XI but I'm probably kidding myself with that too, we need about 5 first team starter quality players over the summer, if we can get that then we've got a chance, they'll probably lose a couple of their players too and you just need to hope the ones the bring in won't be as lethal as the ones they're replacing.

The gap is definitely there at the moment but it's not an unbridgeable gap, things need to go in our favour in terms of recruitment, the big question is can we be trusted to get recruitment right and bridge this gap?

Just can't get too enthusiastic about the last game of the season against them unless we win the semi, during our 9IAR it felt like the tims more often than not always got a result in that last Old Firm of the season and it gave them a false sense of belief that next season will be different, if we don't win the semi, a game with huge significance in terms of silverware, achieving something and also stopping them doing a treble then the last game is meaningless.
Even in 2019 when we beat them 2-0 at Ibrox, they came here and phoned it in, our official twitter feed was giving it the 'Glasgow is blue' bullshit, two weeks later they won another treble and the following season they blitzed the league and the cups until Covid cut the season short, it's ok winning games that have very little consequence, it's games that really matter that count and if we don't win the semi you risk giving yourself an inferiority complex.

Yes, dead rubber. we seem to be saying the same as they said back in the day and I hate hearing our manager say "we competed" that's the minimum we expect.

Once you pay for your seat it should be up to you how often or not you choose to use it.
The presumption that the onus is on you to justify how youve used it and that Rangers can take some thing from you, after they've sold you is a bit odd.

Glutten for punishment I know but I'm actually looking forward to this game, embarrassing as it is being out of the League before we reach the split again.
It's the injuries that actually give me optimism, I want to see us without Kent, hopefully Raskin and Cantwell are focal points in our play, interested to see Tillman and Cantwell's on field relationship develop too, would love to see Lowry get a game but no idea where he is personally atm, would hope to see Lovelace too.
A win isn't my priority today as long as we line up with a view to the future, I just want to see something that makes us optimistic for next season.

Mate he'll be under huge pressure from the police, SFA and probably Rangers to take the sting out of it, he still made his point that he felt the disallowed goal was wrong but he canny be going in hard again on a guy who's had death threats, all it takes is one rocket and the manager will end up being blamed for fanning the flames.

100%. As soon as they came out with the “Clancy threat” card. His hands were tied.
There will be plenty opportunity going forward for us to do better and be smarter with how we deal with refs and pressure.

Max Johnston from Motherwell should be an obvious target, lots of European interest in him, the obvious drawback if he wants to play as many games as possible is that he has Tavernier in front of him but we could guarantee him every cup game, play him at home against the poorer sides in the league too, if you want to give a talented youth a chance a senior player is going to have to make way at some point.

This sums up our desperstion as a fanbase, he's 22 years old in a new country and has only played 8 games starting 6 and we're talking about throwing him the captaincy.
He might take to it like a duck to water but I'm not sure he needs that kind of pressure wnd scrutiny, plus there's a lot more to a captaincy than just an on field leader, not sure it would be fair putting all that off field burden on the shoulders of a kid who's just set foot in Ibrox.
