I don’t buy the excuse the players are not good  enough, or the tactics. This is the same group that qualified for last 16 in Europa league. 
 
The issue is mentality and pressure. They lack belief and mental strength. 

No point bothering about who might hypothetically take points off them. It's in our hands. Focus on us. We win our matches and avoid defeat against them and we win it.

I think he would’ve made changes sooner but he clearly doesn’t rate or trust Raskin to come on. Other players were just back from injury. The game was decided in one moment so I think it’s really harsh to blame anybody for tonight. We lost to a good side tonight but it could’ve went either way.

We didn’t play to our potential tonight but I also thought they looked a much better team than they did last week. I thought the midfield were poor in the first half, didn’t keep the ball or move it quick enough at times . You could see 10 minutes into the second half that all the running they made us do was taking its toll. Another European run to be proud of with Betis away as a huge highlight. Now we concentrate on the league. Hopefully a blessing in disguise. 

Bad day at the office combined with an injury plagued squad.

Back from the game
Not a terrible performance, but the brutal truth is that we lack the cutting edge required at this level.  A front three of Wright, Dessers and Silva is nothing like good enough.
I think Clement has done wonders with very little, but if we want to improve, he will need to be backed in the summer.
What I did like to see is that our pressing game continues to develop.  Benfica did struggle against it at the back at times.  I think this will be crucial in the two (maybe three) games we still have to play against the other lot as they don't handle it well

Would you now like to agree that this is the stupidest idea any club in a title race has came up with?

Easily Lundstram. Butland has been great but Lundstram has been our best player most weeks. 

Had heard that Clement said nothing to worry about just tiredness but def was holding his hamstring as he went off.

Said all along that the past 2 games were the toughest on paper until old firm. Professional job against hearts and a grind, league defining performance against killie.
All we can do now is keep winning against the likes of Motherwell, Hibs etc and keep pressure on and take momentum into a old firm that will more than likely define the season winner! 

There was no player on that park in either team that was even close to being as bad as him. 
 
He had a disaster of a performance 

VAR has it’s issues around the world but fuck me we are making an absolute cunt of it in this country. The second handball by them tonight is as clear as it comes. It’s not just us though the Ross County one last night and the Aberdeen handball a few weeks back are equally as bad. It strikes me as though whoever has to review something goes into absolute panic stations whenever they have to review something. 

I’d depends on your viewpoint. I’ve heard McCoist, McCann, Miller, McInnes and Souness all ‘fight our corner’ on certain issues. Now, whether they are as clear and obvious as Boyd (or as vociferous as many on here would like), is  a matter of interpretation: but Boyd is not the only one, he just happens to be the most prominent as he’s the one that gets wheeled out on Sky’s Scottish football coverage.

Let’s be honest, Boyd is the Rangers equivalent of Sutton. A confrontational wind up merchant who is making a living on TV because he’s entertaining, provides a bit of controversy and polarises opinion. The fact he’s a Rangers fan and views incidents in a similar vein as us fans makes him more likeable. I’m sure Sutton is well regarded in celtic circles.
 

Amazing result tonight yet again in Europe but let’s not blame our failings in the league on the opposition. Something just seems to twig in Europe and we have that bit extra that we don’t see in the league. If Clement can get the team showing the same commitment every game we’ll be unstoppable

I dont blame anyone for stepping away for a bit. Football is supposed to be something we enjoy and that entertains us. It's supposed to have highs and lows and take you on a bit of a roller coaster, but this is just constantly at the bottom of the pit now. There is nothing to feel other than frustration, anger and disappointment and folk can only take so much of that.

With Tav and Goldson it’s not so much their ability it’s more their complete lack of character. When the pressure is on they constantly shit the bed. If they carry so much influence in our dressing room it speaks volumes of the other snowflakes we have in there. 

Would be better leaving Cifuentes out and going with 10. He’s utter dug shite!
