I’m hoping for the 2nd part of your 2nd sentence, mate - ‘rejuvenated by new management’.

I’m quite worried that nobody appeared to bust a gut to impress the new guy on Sunday.

    This.

I have virtually no faith that this group of players are going to up the gears enough to win the game, never mind by 2 goals.

Hope I’m wrong but the evidence now seems to suggest they’re shitebags

    Slow pedestrian.

One of Davis, kamara or lundstram is enough for our midfield.

On paper right now, Davis I'd exspect his last season.

Lundstrum is a Gerrard prodigy/risk signing who jogs around passing sideways and back, looks every much a sheffield utd player who has never had pressure to high press teams and demand the win the baw back right away.

Kamara, who has regressed massively, our most valuable asset outside Kent. I would be open to offers if it meant reinvesting in the playing squad come January, all being well we are still in a title fight.

Kamara almost made me launch the tv on Sunday. Took far too many touches, was nowhere near ambitious/progressive enough with his passing and absolutely shat it (as he nearly always does) when actually in a great position to take a shot.

He offers nothing as an 8 and even for a 6, he’s too safe with his passing. Some games he’s the master of controlled possession, many game he’s just frustrating.

  3. Given the form of a number of players at the moment, it’s just gotten even more difficult to realise the kind of amounts we should’ve in player sales.

Where previously we could’ve gotten £10-£12m for Borna, £15m+ for Alfie, £8-10m for Goldson, those have gone up in smoke.

Yeah, it’s still realistic to get good money for Kent, Kamara and Hagi, the value of lots of players will undoubtedly have dropped considerably now.

And selling Kent or Kamara doesn’t bear thinking about. We’ve already come to regret not selling an Alfie or Borna, sadly.

  4. Great result that for us today. Hate to say it, and I hope I’m wrong, but I don’t have much faith in the players turning up and turning it on tomorrow.

If that was their idea of going out and winning it for Walter on Wednesday, then we have a lot to worry about. Like I say, I really hope I’m wrong, but all I can see is more turgid, passive shite from this team tomorrow. Hope SG/Beale make the necessary changes, too.

  5. Looking at him and reading between the lines of his comments, I think Gerrard’s looking worried and sounds a bit stumped.

The same kind of pre-Covid comments have been made over the past couple of weeks about it now being player’s responsibility but, like then as well, too many keep letting him/us down, aren’t turning up and don’t seem up for the fight.

It’s absolutely ridiculous/shameful that all the momentum we built up from last season almost seems to have evaporated.

If we do not win this one comfortably, we have got one hell of a big problem, a bigger problem than we thought after Tuesdays embarrassment.

I know our heads are down but we have to bounce back, for the club and our supporters

This probably isn’t a popular opinion, but my gut already tells me that we do have a real problem this season.

There’s something really not right about us so far and we’ve looked pretty lacking in ideas, disjointed and powderpuff since the start of preseason.

There’s a strong whiff of players receding back into their 2019/early 2020 shells. Hope I’m wrong, but the body language and confidence from almost the whole team is shite.

  7. We were losing that with or without the wee man. He can hold his head fairly high but the likes of Tav, Borna, Goldson, Balogun, Arfield, Lundstram, Kent, Wright, Aribo and even Gerrard and the coaching team with their team selections, need to take a long, hard look at themselves.

Currently, it looks like we’re imploding and heading towards some kind of free fall if we’re not careful. Shocking attitudes from too many. Shambles
