We will see what the commonly accepted RM opinion is after 2pm on the 3rd of April.

Tbf, if the players step up, show the mentality and play anything like we did against Dortmund/Red Star, we’ll do them comfortably.

Hopefully but I'm currently at Pedro levels of confidence.

Have to say, I don’t get this way of thinking at all. These same players were underperforming under Gerrard, and have looked mentally weak/complacent at times all season. Well before Gio came in.

Gio then actually extended the lead SG built before, for the 3rd time in 4 seasons, the players blew it after the winter break.

For me, we clearly have too many players that just don’t have the necessary hunger and desire to truly dominate here. Good players and nice guys (Aribo, Kamara, Kent etc), but they’re not killers. I think SG, and people like Goldson, saw it a mile away this season.

Is it not part of the managers job to make sure the players are up for the game and fully tuned in.

Personally i would be asking questions of the manager equally as much as the players.

Ffs Walter was one of the best ever at getting the absolute best out of some very bad players

Firstly mate, Walter was one of THE very best in the history of the game at getting players to play beyond their natural levels, at least in terms of commitment. Not even Advocaat or McLeish could match his leadership or motivational skills.

And, at this stage of the season, given how high the stakes are, Gio shouldn’t even have to be motivating these players. It should come from within. Stevie G couldn’t do it earlier this season either (when the players looked even less up for it) and he has even great presence than Gio.

Clearly, there are too many in that squad that just don’t have the absolute hunger and desire to go and properly dominate games and get this over the line. Too many have highly questionable mentalities.

Yep, there is absolutely zero chance that under Gio’s style of play that we will score the goals required to claw it back.

The players need to capture the intensity, commitment & consistency  they had last season and show the same in the final weeks of this season.

When we play the tarriers we need to absolutely go at them, no more sitting back letting them come at us, we’ve seen that story play out already, if we drop even a single point and the league is done as the due to the tarriers all out attacking style of play they aren’t dropping points agains the diddy teams.

That’s really harsh on Gio. We put 6 past Dortmund, 4 past Red Star, 5 past Hearts etc.

He can’t be blamed for players missing a shocking number of guilt-edged chances (almost every game), which they’ve been doing all season and before he came in.

Quite simply, the players haven’t been at it, mentally, for far too many domestic games this season.

  5. My biggest concern with Gio right now is he appears to be unnecessarily alienating and bombing out players that we need to step. In doing so, he’s running a small core into the ground.

Neither situation is going to end well for him or us if it continues.

It’s bizarre, nonsensical and his stubbornness, if he doesn’t change soon, will see him fail.

  6. One-off strip (never a good omen), same players been ran into the ground with the manager seemingly alienating the others not getting a look in (some of whom haven’t even turned up this season, tbf). Not to mention this is always Aberdeen’s cup final (who we’ve been woeful against this season).

Hope I’m proved wrong, but I’m not confident at all.  How did it all come to feeling like this?

  7. Board - Robertson, for me. I don’t totally blame Bisgrove as it’s his job to bring opportunities to the table (though he really should’ve known better). But Robertson signed off on it, having known most of the vile shit we’ve put up with from them.

DoF - Unsure. I think the structure and running of the club/football department has improved loads. Track record of signings isn’t great, but then for all we know, the board vetoed his/the manager’s main targets.

Manager - It’s a strange one. Right now, I feel he’s placing himself on a really slippery slope with not trusting his squad. He’s only going to alienate players such as Roofe, Davis, Helander, Wright and even Sakala and create bad feeling throughout much of the squad. Equally, so many of them have been shite/not turned up. And running the same players into the ground is just terrible management. In terms of league form under Gio, it started brilliantly but this is the same squad though who 3 out of the 4 past seasons have collapsed post-split.

For me, the woes and capitulation of this season falls almost entirely on the players. Too few have turned up, the goals/assist numbers are down significantly, for has universally dipped (aside from Alfie) and too many are undoubtedly too mentally weak to play for us.

I’m not conceding the league either. I’ll still be at Ibrox at the weekend. It’s not over till it’s over.

But just taking the blue specs off, we’ve absolutely collapsed and now are looking like we’ll have to win all our games including going to their midden and winning if we want this title. I can’t see us doing it. I just don’t think this group has it in them.

Sunday was absolutely schoolboy stuff, and we shat the bed again.

Couldn’t agree more. If they end up winning this league, it’s the biggest onfield collapse since Advocaat, given our position of strength from last season.

And while Gio (and Gerrard) could've done better with some things, this will be solely on the players for me.  Too many haven’t turned up this season and too many have a shockingly weak mentality.

He'll do nothing, only in post because his Dad gives free pies on match days.

Same with our "PR" expert who used to do pods on Heart and Hand. Utterly clueless, jobs for the boys attitude.

I get that mate but the truth is, if enough fans inundate the club with objections and threaten to/actually withhold funding for merch, tickets, MyGers etc, they’ll have to shelf it.

It’s one of the most scandalous decisions our board have made in years. It makes signing with Castore look genius.

Another one for him to delete.

He does that at his pearl then.  This has seriously galvanised the support in outrage against the club and people withholding funds and bombarding the likes of the club and Greg is the only option to get it changed.

So I disagree with your cynicism and suggest as many as possible get active with this.

Sitting on yer arse doing fuck all about it, if that's your genius approach, won't achieve anything.
