Rhepublican scum havin a demo at Armed Forces . . .

Recommended Posts

Just back from George Square..

Poster above has it spot on - heres what happened:

March past of armed forces & veterans, who assembled in the middle of Geo Sq. There was an amazing reception for them all, so well done to the people who made the effort to support this.

As the final notes of the last post sounded, a small number of IRA sympathisers (Sinn Fein), came along the top part of George Sq. Heard lots of shouting, calling them scum - the old veterans beside me just shook their head in disgust.

The crowd surged to the top half of George Sq, and I think some of them caught up with one or two of the scum. Certainly one at least caught a few slaps. The rest bolted up to Cathedral Street, and I think they got lifted - probably more for their own safety.

There were a few songs sung at them - TFIO, and no surrender to the IRA - nothing sectarian at all. However, there were, as you would expect, some neds just looking for an excuse to box, that was the only thing that disappointed.

I have to say that reading the STV account of this makes me boil - I mean wheres the parity in reporting ? Are reporters blind? Why shouldn't the crowd vent its fury when these cretins openly dishonor our armed forces past and present?

This really could only happen in Glasgow !

I'm actually ashamed of today, and angry that the truth simply wont be told by the 'press'.

Funny that everyone I spoke to today from the forces, veterans, cops, and organisers, were disgusted with the 'protest' by Sinn Fein'.

Why is then, that its only the BBC/STV that have a completely different take on it - suddenly its a Loyalist / sectarian mob problem!!

If anyone from the press is lurking - shame on you !!

Pictures from today to follow, when I get a minute.

(Sinn Fein) Was He There.????

I personally believe that the scum who planned this fully intended to provoke a reaction from us that would be picked up by the press & have us portrayed in exactly the way the press have portrayed it. It was no meaningful or well organized protest by them. Just a snide wee stint designed to provoke us & the cunts obviously succeeded. We Should Know Better.

I know I don't post a lot and I'm probably going to get shot down but "our" side weren't without blame today.

First of all, let me say that I - like everyone else - was utterly disgusted that their protest was allowed to go ahead today. I'm disgusted that they could attempt to ruin the day for the old and bold who aren't remotely interested in their politics. However, I'm also disgusted at the number of blokes wearing Union Flags or Rangers tops who charged at them with nothing but violence in mind.

I was taking my 3 year old a walk around the perimeter of the Square as he wasn't getting a bit ratty and I didn't want to spoil the service for those around us. We got to the corner at George Street and stopped as the fly past went overhead. The trouble kicked off after that and as I tried to get out of the way with my son, he was trampled to the ground by rampaging blokes. Blokes old enough to know better and sadly, many blokes wearing Rangers tops. No one helped him up or get us out of the middle of it - they just wanted to keep charging forward, regardless of the fact there was a toddler on the ground. It was utterly terrifying for me, so think how it was for a child and he wasn't the only kid there. The whole place was full of children and families and the actions of many in front of those families was shameful.

The scum who felt the need to protest today were nothing but that, scum. They set out to completely disrespect our veterans. However, do those who charged at them, screaming obscenities, knocking over children, really think that they were showing respect? Did our vets deserve that to happen or did they deserve everyone of us to turn our backs on the republican scum and ignore them whilst focusing our energy and respect on those who deserved it?

You make a valid point mate and i'm sorry to hear your son was frightened. In an ideal world everyone would 'turn the other cheek' but the reality is that we are dealing with all walks of life and people react differently in a volatile situation.

We are dealing with enemies of Britain here and it's very difficult to stand by when everything we stand for is being eroded.

This is going to be an annual event now and you can guarantee the scum will up the ante when it comes to provacation.Sadly,an event which should involve children and families could become rather dangerous.

Finally, although i seen the odd Rangers top throughout the whole crowd, to suggest there were a lot is rather inaccurate in my opinion.

Oh don't get me wrong, I don't condone it but I totally understand why people retaliated. They make my blood boil and my hatred for everything they stand for grows by the day. It's been brewing for a long, long time now and we all know the scum are getting away with far too much. However, today shouldn't have been the time and place for it. As a previous poster said, they manipulated today to play right into their hands. They wanted a reaction and got it, which will be at our expense and set back all our justified arguments.

With regards to the Rangers tops, I was meaning polo shirts, t-shirts etc as well as actual tops. Like you, I didn't actually see too many actual tops but there were plenty of people wearing colours in one form or another.

I don't see that, i see this being a massive own goal by them.

They were protesting at an armed forces day for the country of their birth. I cannot see how any anti protesters can be lambasted because of their reaction to the vermin who should not have been there in the first place.

At least you are looking at it rationally my friend. In an ideal world the police could have dealt with it and allowed us to enjoy the parade.Indeed,we should have laughed at them then turned our back on them.Unfortunately, there are some who see it as a challenge and react accordingly.

Well done to the peole who stood up to the scum today, so proud of the veterans and the people who said enough is enough.

And to all you t@igs, appeasers, apologists and downright socialist scum, the people of Glasgow are not on their knees we will still stand and fight.

We all know the arguament...and we all agree that they shouldnt have been there and that these people are scum.

But to say that we cant turn around and ignore them is all wrong. Today was about the armed forces who we are so proud of. They have just spent the past few years getting shot at and losing friends , families and loved ones. If they can put up with doing that, then im pretty sure that we can put up with a few shitey wee agrivators. This was their day and it was marred by this. No one is justifying the republican demo on this page. They are upset that some people have stooped to their level.

If the armed forces can put up with bombs and bullets, then we can put up with stupid shouts. We are better than them. We know it, we dont need to stoop to their low low low level.

This could have been a day where we showed that we are the better side and care genuinly about our country but those who charged at them let us all down and more importently the servicemen and woman.

I'll tell you what, a good percentage of the soldiers would have wanted the scum leathered today, if not they would just come back next year, and the year after. Now i cant see them getting a demo allowed next year. they wont get within a mile of the city centre.

When do you deem a suitable time to attack them?

After the football? As then it goes down as FV related and your sentence trebles..

They needed to be shown today what they are gonna get EVERY time they come out to embarrass themselves whilst our proud soldiers of all ages are marching.

The clips I saw in the news today showed zealous idiots draped in Union flags giving the Nazi salute and chanting sectarian songs, there is no way that this particular group could have been Republican or Catholic. Union flags being flown in Glasgow's streets usually equates to an Orange Walk.

There is a small minority in both camps in Glasgow which is no big surprise given that any paramilitaries who fall out of favour with their chosen group in Northern Ireland tend to migrate to Western Scotland and most are drawn to Glasgow to perpetuate their hatred.

This was posted by a celtic fan on another (non football) forum I am on, utter ridiculous
