WilliamMunny 3,237
Would like to have spent 3.5m on a top winger or striker but maybe we still will? Didn't McCoist say he wanted to bring in a marquee signing that will excite the fans?
Loan Ranger 48
Maybe your right, but I'm pretty sure we were only a couple 100k of verhoek and we could of gotten goodwillie for almost £1m less than what we eventually bid for him. Don't want to get into an argument though and we'll see what happens the rest of the window, I'm sure we will find other players just as good as the ones we were linked with and go onto retain the title for the 55th time Reports say our last bid for Verhoek was 1 mill (which was the highest bid at the time ) Now todays reports are that Forest have agreed 2.5 - which is a considerable jump from their last bid of £800,000.I honestly think we dont rate him as high as that. WaltersGotStyle 160
This sort of bid will shut up the "we have no money" critics...Meanwhile over at the swamp they are not willing to stump up £2 million for Forster...

Irwin Sparkes 97
I would be flabbergasted if we paid £3.5 million for a centre half when we wouldn't stump up a few extra hundred thousand to sign Miller and Goodwillie

Creampuff 22,628
I don't think the money isn't there, rather we have a max value for each target and won't go higher than it.The fans need this signing, and we fucking desperately need a new CB

radlord 24
I'm glad we're getting in guys that Ally wants, but £3.5m is a HELL of a lot of money to be spending on a 28 year old. He'll be 31/32 when his contract is up. Doesn't look like we'll be getting any sort of resale value or anything.Ally must really rate him.
Loan Ranger 48
The voice of reason.Cuellar is 30 - 2 millJuhasz is 28 - 3.5if we sold him in 2 years for 2 mill - he would have cost us 750,000 per year.Nothing wrong with that for a quality defender. Oh...and hes 13 years younger than Davie Weir.

PRW. 5,631
Our defence is pish, from what I've heard about Juhasz hes amazing Wouldn't look out of place in a top 4 premiership team and is the best player at Anderlecht.Currently we're signing Australian player of the year and arguably the best player in Belgium. We're most negative about ourselves. Loan Ranger 48
May 10, 2009The News of the World claims this morning that “Martin O’Neill wants to nab £5million-rated Anderlecht defender Roland Juhasz . The Aston Villa boss intends plunging into the market for a centre-half because of serious doubts surrounding the future of Martin Laursen, who may retire due to his latest knee injury."The 25-year-old Hungarian defender is in big demand and is all but certain to leave Belgian football in the summer with interest also from Fiorentina, Hamburg, Marseille and Inter Milan.Juhasz is playing his fourth season at Anderlcht after coming through the ranks at MTK Budapest. The 6.3 central defender has gradually established himself as a mainstay in Anderlecht’s defence and this season has played 32 games, scoring four goals. His contract expires in 2010/2011 and he is described by IMScouting as a "good man marker, strong in duels and good with his head. Always searches for the most simple solution."Voted Hungary’s player of the year in 2008, video evidence of Juhasz in action can be seen below.Arsenal are the latest club to be linked with a move for Hungarian central defender Roland Juhasz , according to the Daily Mail this morning who also claim that Aston Villa, Tottenham, Bolton and Hull are tracking the Anderlecht centre back.http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1183989/Premier-League-clubs-line-Juhasz-Anderlecht-defender-looks-England-move.htmlAll from about 3 years ago - but an indication of how highly rated he is and has been for a while. footygeek301 20
He has been at anderlecht for more than 5 years, definitely no work permit required. Even if it was he has over 60 caps, and would be a formality. If this is true then a great signing.
