However, today's performance was akin to that of Daniel Cousin when he battered the sellik defence into submission, and all that was missing for his efforts was a goal.McCulloch pummelled that lot today. Add to that the fact he offered to play for nothing, and Jig gets a new found respect from me.Well played big man.Could not agree anymore. I was the same as you earlier this season slating McCulloch match after match but since our problems have started this season he has been a credit to himself and our club.Also I forgot that he could actually play some good football but since being played up front he has reminded me that he does have some good play in him. However, he is in no way a CM and a good performance up front doesn't mean that he can suddenly do the same these days in a holding role.Well in Jig and well in Ally. Odd that he was bossing the defence without getting into trouble yet when in midfield his bullying leads more often than not to a card. The Godfather 72,293 Posted March 27, 2012 Share Posted March 27, 2012 Jig had got it tough from supporters because he was being played in a role that requires attributes that are not his strongest; we have now found a position for the man which suits both player and club. He is the purest striker of the ball we have at the club and has a physical presence like no other which all leads to him being deployed as a target man (Grant Holt/Cousin like). His lack of pace and speed is not an issue in this role as it was further back the field while his knockdowns and holding play will bring players in who can surge on the attack (Aluko in the OF game prime example).
