Actually, they've not said they're not showing it, they're just saying that a decision hasn't been made yet. Sounds like a ploy to promote themselves to some sort of higher status than they really are, or will ever become as long as they're running a sectarian, bigoted service.

Don't believe for a minute this will happen, but it would not surprise me if the police are putting pressure on them not to broadcast it live.

This would mean people would mostly have to watch it online, and therefore the pubs would be almost empty and trouble free.

The BBC wouldn't lose out either, as the owners of the rights, they could sell it for a fortune to plenty other countries worldwide.

As I say, It won't happen but the police will be having a major say in how things are played out.

Is it not first refusal rights they have to matches ? Surely if they do not want to broadcast it live, the SPFL could grant the rights to another broadcaster for more money which the BBC would get a cut.

Regardless, it will be on the box.

aye ok fannybaws. I didn't know they had the full rights to the League Cup. plus I'm sure Sky showed the tims v the sheep a few years back and the BBC showed us v Motherwell

That was the SC the tarriers played Aberdeen in both semi's that season, BBC showed the Motherwell v St Johnstone SC semi.

It's all about ratings so there's no way they will pass this by.

As I live in England I will have to rely on iPlayer or a stream unless one of my mates gets corporate which is a possibility.

(I was a guest of Motherwell when we played them in a semi at Hampden a few years back. Not a great atmosphere on the bus going back after we beat them).

If we get to the final then I will have to make sure I get a ticket so some grovelling may be required.

(Thanks to Canon for my Manchester ticket, buy/lease Canon copiers :) )

What a load of fucking HE HAW.

Of course they are gonna show it.

Does anyone seriously think for a second that the BBC are sitting about scratching their arses thinking "Uh, we're not really sure if we want all these people tuning into our TV channel!" Bullshit! If I were the BBC I'd be fucking over the moon and sending a big UP YE'S to Sky/BT. Same goes if it were Sky or BT. Who would seriously turn down the opportunity to show this game? If by some chance they decide not to show it then...they're cracked.
