I always find it strange that whenever a negative story breaks about the fiddlers 'the comments section' at the bottom doesn't exist or is blocked.

During 2012 every breaking Rangers story was littered with froth mouthed tarriers spuing their garbage page after page.

A comment on a website is a publication, therefore subject to libel and contempt of court laws. Papers do not have enough moderators to delete all contentious posts and they dont have the time to ask posters for evidence so they just disable the comments when emotive stories about individuals come out, or stories about ongoing criminal investigations.

Through formal and informal channels it is now about time that questions are posed to the Scottish football auithorities.  In particular, will they be considering sanctions against a club that has repeatedly covered up child abuse, or do they only act in tax cases?

The last week we’ve seen more heartbreaking stories from victims of historic child abuse within football.  The scale of the issue appears to be worse than anyone thought possible with the NSPCC now expecting over 1000 victims to come forward (there were circa 350 people affected by the Saville scandal).

In England the FA have responded quickly and admirably not only setting up an independent inquiry to investigate how this happened & how to prevent it happening again but also taking action to address concerns about the independence of their inquiry.  The issue of independence of investigation is key as Greg Clarke of the FA has already stated publicly he believes his own organisation could have done more.  Even with that knowledge they plan to expose the ugly truth of the situation & deal with it whatever that may mean.  That’s not going to be an easy process but it’s the right thing to do not only for the victims but for any youngster playing the game now or in the future.

Compare and contrast this with the SFA’s response who have barely uttered a word about the issue other than to say “we will co-operate with the police”.  No independent Inquiry established, no attempt to reach out to victims and no leadership shown at all.  It would be easy to dismiss this as typical SFA incompetence but the alarming facts which have emerged in the last week suggest it is something much more sinister.

SFA youth coaches & employees have been named as alleged abusers

Whistleblowers Ian McCallum & Ali McMaster have alleged they made the SFA aware of the issue years ago but were dismissed as troublemakers and forced from the game.

Self-confessed paedophile Jim McCafferty was a close friend of the next SFA President Rod Petrie and was hired by him at Hibs in 2007 despite serious allegations hanging over him.

The SFA’s failure to act is inexplicable unless you accept they are in fact a corrupt organisation with something very serious to hide.  With the facts outlined above it is impossible to draw any other conclusion.  All of Scottish football fans should be united on this issue and demand a fully independent inquiry into what went on at all clubs & our governing body over the last 35 years.  If the SFA don’t have the integrity to act then the Government must force their hand and hold an inquiry themselves as has been suggested by leading English politicians today.

I wrote last week that anything less than an independent inquiry would be shameful, given what we know now it may even be criminal.

It's a discussion about child abuse and he's still trying to get digs in about Rangers dieing. Still struggling with their priorities, I see.

Have you seen that cunts reply? Desperately trying to defend the indefensible, what the fuck has our "death" as they like to call it got to do with this? Rancid bastard

Football rivalry takes a major backseat in this instance, what's more important is someone abused their position of power and prayed on the dreams of young boys for their sick & twisted desires.

Arrested

A former Celtic Football Club youth coach is being questioned by police in Northern Ireland about allegations of child sex abuse.

Jim McCafferty, who previously lived in Glasgow and joined Celtic in 1990, now lives in Belfast.

The victims are believed to have been in their mid-teens.

A police spokesperson said: "A 71-year-old male has been arrested by detectives after presenting himself at a station in Belfast.

"He was arrested on suspicion of sexual offences against children in Northern Ireland. He is currently helping police with their enquiries."

Mr McCafferty initially worked for Celtic as a scout, later becoming one of the club's kit men and working with the youth team.

Football child sex abuse claims: What has happened so far

In 1996 he left the Glasgow club suddenly, citing personal reasons.

For several years he worked for other Scottish clubs including Falkirk and Hibs, before moving to Northern Ireland about seven years ago.

It is understood he is being questioned by the PSNI in Belfast.

This is the latest in a series of abuse allegations in football across England, Scotland and Wales.

Around 350 people have come forward to say they suffered sexual abuse as children at the hands of coaches.

On Tuesday, the PSNI announced it was investigating what are described as "a very small number" of allegations of child sexual abuse related to football clubs in Northern Ireland, although it is not yet clear which clubs are involved.

Exactly the point I was trying to make in the other thread, let's show this up for what it really is, it's not "A rival football team who hate them so much are just trying to get one better"

it's

"A rival football team who hate them so much they are trying to get the world to know just how disgusting they really are"

How fuckin deluded can you get?

Only asking for justice to be done, but they lot just want to sweep it under the rug with the rest of their corrupt indecent behaviour.

We have acted accordingly and to a high moral standard in all of this, and have nothing to be ashamed about.

Filthy scum bastards

That government would be SNPIRA, so we can expect nothing. They have already sabotage the current independent inquiry into historic child abuse in Scotland, which two Chairmen have already resigned due to SNPIRA interference and which for some reason didn't include the churches nor football. Can't for the life of me think why these omissions. No laughing at the back!
