ElBufalo20 8,159
Was he only charged by the FA cos that is where he is playing now? So if he was still with us it wouldn't have mattered unless the SFA were involved? The punishment seems extreme. About time the FAs have a ban on bookie sponsorships rather than chasing the money. Valance1690 4,097
Guy's a dick, we have known that for years. Saying that, an 18 month punishment for betting seems very harsh (unless proven that he was betting on matches his teams were involved in) Think he's been made an example of tbh, should deter footballers away from betting
The Specky Forum Organiser 69,600
This amuses me greatly but surely there must be more to come out, 18 months is harsh as fuck.
Marky. 7,110
Like him or not, that is an outrageously big punishment from the FA. If match-fixing is their concern, then you'd understand it to an extent, but wow, 18 months is a little excessive.

If he was still with us he'd still be facing this ban, as it's rare for FAs to refuse to enforce suspensions placed by another.

graeme_4 37,536
Bullet dodged IMO, although not sure if he would or could have had this enforced by the English FA if we was still with us. Guys a fud regardless, but so was MW in hindsight.

jintybear 8,748
I sometimes wonder how well he would have done if there was a different manager in. I don't know if we will ever find out what really happened but from what I've read Barton seemed to criticise Warburton over training methods and Warburton didn't like that. If only the whole team had criticised him! Lol
