Yep, the style of reporting that makes it a "no win" scenario for us regardless of the result.

They are a good team, and still have a few internationals in there. We will need to continue playing the way we have at home with any chance of winning. Great opportunity for us to put ourselves within touching distance of the next stage.

We are a young team though, and others shouldn't forget that. Shows you the difference in reporting though where a much more experienced celtic team are ok to go and get a regular pumping ( "brave"), where as they pile an expectation on us to win every game in europe.

Yet if we did win every game in Europe we wouldn't get any credit for it from the Scottish media.

The truest statement was made after last European game (maybe by you,  cant remember)...

The taigs loss was talked about as if they had just played a team on par with Barcelona.

Our win over Rapid was talked about like we had beat a team on par with Accrington Stanley.

Mate you’d have been forgiven for thinking Rob McLean had just learned his maw had died when Morelos scored the third. He literally said Morelos slots in for a bonus goal, 3-1 Rangers lol.

I watched BT sport highlights of the tarriers game and you’d have been forgiven for thinking cellic tv was on when they scored their only goal.

Once the third went in they claimed Salzburg were favourites to win it haha. They got to the semis last year tbf but no-one has taken into account teams like Spurs and one of Napoli and PSG dropping into it.

They’ve painted it in a way that if we don’t get out our group it’s a travesty and a joke, remember we were pot 4. Whilst pot 2 cellic are struggling like fuck in their group and it’s made out to be some sort of group of death.

Very true. Look at the scrutiny (and rightly so) on our away from domestically. Then compare that to their away from in europe. If our form were that bad it would not be taken in the jolly way theirs is.

Spot on there. People forget we are bottom seeds in our group, the amount of qualifiers we have had to go through as well. It's been a bonus for us getting this far nevermind potentially getting out of the group.

No way is this going to be the formality the press are trying to make it out to be. You can imagine how they'll react if we lose. " Rangers crash to Spartak reserves" . Total pish. This lot will be better than Vienna and if we win itll be a great result.

This will be tough, don't let the media build us up for a fall, need to be 100% focused and ready for this, hopefully Morelos keeps his form and runs them ragged.

Yes the media are at it, I just hope we keep focused and get a good result, as in any win. Thinking it will be easy would be a huge mistake but I think Stevie G will make sure the players do not fall for the negative news about their team.

The atmosphere at the last game was fantastic and I hope we are doing the bouncy again with 10 minutes to go.

We aren’t just bottom seeds we were ranked 45th out of the 48 teams in the group sections, so far punching above our weight hopefully continues tonight

If we can take four pionts from the next two games it sets things up nicely.

Was thinking that. Puts us on 8 points. You would have to think that would probably be enough. Thats obviously with the assumption that Villarreal will be too strong for Rapid over the two games. I just hope we do it tonight

Agreed, loved the atmosphere against Vienna, unfortunately can't make game tonight, in tenerife and its fkn pissin down? 3 points tonight and were within touching distance, just need to focus and get right in about them.

Optimistic about tonight but the media are really playing up this 7 players left behind shite.

Breaking it down to the actual truth...

Luis Adriano is suspended so was never able to play. Denis Glushakov (their captain) & Andrey Yeshchenko have both been booted to the youth team for the last month so haven't been playing anyway.

So they've actually left 4 players behind who might have played to give them a rest for a 'more important' match on Monday apparently....all sounding like mind games to try and offset us a bit and (if we win) to make it sound like the win was to be expected. Don't see the media coming out at talking about Barisic (50/50) Dorrans, Murphy or Arfield...4 players who could've had the potential to play

Don't see Gerrard or the team letting that get into their heads at all and hopefully we come out all guns blazing in the first half and blow them away
