SPFL decided to add two teams to the league so they got promoted automatically while at the same time they also lost quite a few of their squad. This year there is a play off for the second side so Gartcairn or Montrose will likely play whoever finishes 11th in the league which will make things a bit better. I’ve been told Gartcairn pay appearance fees (don’t know if that is true or not) but it they do then they may be a decent addition to the league. Ultimately below the top division you have a mix of players who have played at a higher level, players who want to play for fun, and some who are developing.
