celtic Football Club unreservedly condemns and apologises for the behaviour of the player Boli Bolingoli in travelling to Spain without informing the club and in failing to observe quarantine restrictions.

It is difficult to imagine a more irresponsible action in current circumstances and we find it beyond explanation. The Club will take immediate action through our own disciplinary procedures.

celtic are in touch with every SPFL club today, and with all relevant authorities, to apologise for the fact that one of our employees has created so much additional difficulty through his actions.

All of our playing and backroom staff have been tested twice for Covid-19 since this incident and all, including the player in question, have tested negative. While this comes as a relief to all concerned, it in no way diminishes the seriousness or stupidity of the player’s actions.

Since the Covid -19 crisis began, we have had a safe and healthy squad of players, recording not one positive test. As a club, we have worked tirelessly to ensure a sustained, safe environment for all.

We have led the way in working with the football authorities and Scottish Government to establish the most rigorous, effective protocols and working practices, which ultimately led to the resumption of football. We could have done no more in this area.

It is a matter of the deepest regret to us that the behaviour of one individual has jeopardised that reputation and reflected discredit on football more generally.

They must have forgot about the racist Griffiths

Yeah that's right. All test results need to be submitted 48 hours before KO. This is where the real issue is for me. Player going is a monumental fuck up but celtic NEED to confirm he was tested along with the rest of the squad and submitted on time.

Chances are they tested everyone before being given 2 days off.

Why haven't Kilmarnock or Aberdeen said anything?

Their games should be getting postponed so why aren't we out demanding it to happen, because they'd 100% be doing it to us.

Nauseating.

Assuming he wasn’t, that means either celtic have fraudulently submitted a test or the SPFL have failed to enforce their own rules, presumably?

The correct thing to do is ban the nonces for 14 days from Sunday and all games are forfeited including the CL.  Other clubs shouldn’t be punished due to these cunts not following the rules. Border Force and Police Scotland need involved also.

From Yousaf tweet,

Mr Yousaf said: “Utterly unacceptable from Bolingoli. With a number of incidents, Scot Govt left with little choice but to consider whether pause is now needed in resumption of the game

Operational matter for Border Force & Police Scot, I support whatever enforcement action they deem necessary.”

They seemingly had the days off at the start of the week rather than the end. Seems to be a bit of confusion over how long he was away for too. Seen stuff saying two days and others saying four.

Is the SPFL/SFA football bubble an actual thing?

Yes, SPFL/SFA were in talks with the government about the criteria needed so that Scottish football could start back on 1st of August to save the Sky contract. it sort of leaves Lawwell with egg on his face after campaigning the government to restart the season and for fans to return to the stadium on a trail basis.

If he wasn't, I'd be more tempted to think celtic just threw caution to the wind and included him regardless.

Match officials dont have the power to check everyone has been tested due to confidentiality and there's a certain element of trusting clubs to comply with the guidelines. Players are all temp checked on the way into the ground (Bolingoli will have too).

There’s no way they can suspend this season on health grounds and then let the taigs play a Euro tie, if the season is suspended then the taigs must forfeit their CL tie, how could you suspend a season on health grounds then let them potentially spread it to another country?

Especially when they are the cunts who caused the suspension due to lack of due diligence

Yes I know all of that. Not sure if it would come under the bracket of ineligible player. Would be good if it did.

I think it should. Surely it's similar to playing a player who's supposed to be suspended.
