Imagine being any striker at the club, not just a young one, but even guys like itten and roofe, and they can go to someone like jermaine defoe and ask advice about their performances, especially in and around the box

How fucking good would that be

I also think he is a big influence on Alfredo.

What do you actually base this on?

He started 3 league games last year and played a total of 422 minutes. With Sakala incoming he goes further down the pecking order.

He hardly contributed to 55 on the park tbh.

His main contribution will be off the field this season IMO.

This past season he was 8th on our goal scoring charts with 7 goals and still far and away the best ratio for goals/time on the pitch along with still being the best finisher in the squad.

Wouldn't say that was "hardly contributing to 55".

I'll be surprised that Sakala coming means he goes further down the pecking order and think one of either Morelos, Roofe or Itten will be leaving this summer.

Over the moon, hopefully he's as good a coach as he is a striker, future gaffer you just never know 👍

He just looks so at ease at the club that he'd probably take a job selling matchday programmes if it meant he stayed here when he retires from playing altogether

We'll if he's interested in being a manager one day then where better to be in amongst it, so happy about this.

Look how far we have came from strikers like Kyle, lafferty, garner, waghorn. Jermaine fucking defoe is going to be our back up striker. Plenty of life in him yet. Loved cannigia when he was with us and for a cf fitness and age isn't everything. I'm well chuffed with this news. Hopefully more to come.
