jamess 3,435
I'd have him replace Hagi and work with Tav down the right. Both are more dangerous round the box than Hagi.
King Jela 20,378
Don't play wingbacks further up anymore so from a purely defensive point of view, even as a right footed player, he'd be absolutely fine there against Dundee United at home. The alternative is Simpson and that's an absolute no go unless we have a serious, serious injury crisis. He might be better under Gio than Gerrard tbf but done nothing to show he's even Motherwell level, let alone Rangers.
esquire8 42,982
With Gios new tactical setup he could easily play at left back for us.
Johnstone Burgh 1,642
Few games at left back won’t do him or us any harm tbh. Might help him develop giving him some time out of his comfort zone. They Gnu

maverick1200 2,832
I have no issues with him playing LB for the short term. Philipp Lahm made a okay career playing on the wrong side.

If we sell anyone in January for big money, I genuinely think I would not be too disappointed if it was Patterson. He is still miles behind Tav, will struggle to reach his potential whilst getting limited time with us. If we could bring in £10m from him without weakening our first team, then I think it would be a good result. Add football to the long list of things you really don't understand at all. BlueKnight87 17,315
No issues with Patterson playing LB if borna has to miss some games. We are not reliant on our full backs to bomb forward under gio now. Patterson would be fine doing defensive work on that side. graeme_4

Creampuff 22,628
I’d probably play him there rather than bring Simpson in. If for no other reason than I don’t want to break-up the Goldson-Bassey partnership that’s actually started to look pretty solid.

alfajerk 23
If he gets played at left back it'll do his long term development good, learning different aspects of the game.

Particularly poor against Lyon. £10m offer comes in and it’s a no brainier for a guy that can’t get in the team. DiamondDan
The Blues 375
Paterson should either be playing or sold. We cannot afford the luxury of having a player like this on the bench. Tax is captain etc. etc. but NP has amazing potential to be as good as Andrew Robertson etc.

bluenoz 30,944
Not for me. One of Gerrard's faults was constantly playing players out of position (shoehorning players) going all the way back to Ross McCrorie. Watching Kamara, Aribo and Kent play in their best position is night and day. Patterson is a right back.
